When the four of you arrive at the curry restaurant, you make way to an open table. Maki and Bokuto nearly get into a fight over who gets to sit next to you. In the end, Maki won, sitting to your right. Akaashi sat across from Maki, and Bokuto sat across from you.

Maki scanned the menu. "They have quite the variety, Y/n. We'll have to tell the others about this."

"Shouldn't we wait to make that decision? Shouldn't we, oh I don't know, actually try the food before thinking about recommending it to our friends?" You look through the menu, choosing your favorite drink before looking at the curry selection.

Bokuto leaned closer to you from across the table. "Tell me about your friends."

Maki rolled her eyes. "There's a panda, a mute, an emo boy, and someone who's obsessed with his dead girlfriend."

"I'd say Rika is more of a friend than a girlfriend. Yes, they promised to get married when they were young, but they never formed an actual relationship since they were children." You pointed out.

Akaashi raised a brow. "That's the only part that was off? What about the rest of the stuff she said about the people you're usually around? Did she exaggerate something, or maybe just say the wrong thing?"

You hum, rubbing your chin with your thumb and index finger. "No, Inumaki can't speak, Panda is a panda, and Fushiguro is emo. I think that sums up our schoolmates perfectly. Okkotsu isn't obsessed, but he's definitely hung up on his childhood best friend's death. Oh, Maki, you forgot about Gojo-sensei."

Maki deadpanned. "Man child. How could I forget about him?"

Bokuto looked confused. "Those don't seem like nice ways to describe people."

"But it's accurate." Maki smiled slightly.

You nod. "The people at our school are... unique, to say the least. No two people are the same, and there are very distinguishing features for each person. Wait, is Fushiguro really emo?"

Maki shrugs. "He looks it, he acts it, I'd say he's pretty emo."

Akaashi sighed, leaning back against the booth. "So how would you describe each other?"

You look at Maki, then turned to the two boys. "She's the most athletic one of us. No one can beat her in a fight."

Maki hums, then leans her head on your shoulder. "Y/n is the actor of us. She can fit in anywhere, blend in with a crowd of normal people. She's the only one of us that could live any life she wanted. I guess you could call her the most normal of all of us."

"Me? Normal? Have you met me?"

"In comparison to the rest of us, you're the most normal." She shot right back at you.

Bokuto chuckled. "You're interesting. Oh, Y/n! Do you think you could come to one of our volleyball matches?"

You slowly turn to look at him, seeing his big, pleading eyes. "I'm sorry, Bokuto, but we're pretty busy. We don't exactly get time off to do whatever we want. We're lucky that we get a chance to leave campus for dinner from time to time. I don't think I'll be able to make it to one of your games, no matter how hard I try."

Akaashi put a hand on his friend's shoulder. "Don't get depressed about it, Bokuto-san. L/n and Maki are busy. They deal with different things than we do. You shouldn't get upset over things that can't eb helped." He stopped Bokuto from going into emo mode just in time.

You try changing the subject. "What year are you two in?"

Bokuto smiles at you. "Akaashi is a second year, and I'm a third year."

Maki's eyes go wide. "Wait, he's older than us?!" She looks at you, while pointing at Bokuto.

You blink a few times. "It would seem so. For the record, Maki and I are also second years."

Bokuto's golden eyes widened. "Really? So I'm the oldest one here?!"

Akaashi looks at the oncoming waiter. "Looks like it. Oh, here's our waiter."

A guy around your age walks to the table smiling. He turns red upon seeing you. He leans close to you, a grin on his face. "Can I get you anything? A drink? Some curry? My number?"

You roll your eyes, grinning while and evil glint is in your eyes. "Oh, sweetie, you can't handle me. You'll be crying in the corner if I let you into my life. I'll take f/d. Maki, stop laughing and place your order."

Maki snickers, covering her mouth while she stops. "I'll just take water. But you might want some aloe for the burn my best friend here just gave you." She start snickering again, you cover your mouth while silently joining in.

The waiter writes the drinks down, a frown on his face. The last thing he expected for his shift was getting made fun of by two attractive girls, especially one he hit on. "And for you two boys? I'm guessing you're their boyfriends?"

Akaashi shakes his head. "No, we just met them today. There's no chance we'll be leaving in relationships tonight. These girls might be a bit too much for us to handle. I'll take green tea, please."

Bokuto looks at you, then slowly turns to the waiter. "I don't think you should flirt with her. That seems wrong, since you're working. I'll take root beer."

The waiter quickly leaves after writing the drinks down. He was too embarrassed to stay much longer. He was going to ask someone else to cover your table in his place. He promised to never set foot by the two girls that hurt his ego for the rest of the night.

Akaashi raised a brow at you. "Why did you two act that way to the waiter?"

Maki grins, leaning against the booth. "Y/n and I aren't like normal people. We go to a secret school, do things no ordinary person would do. Y/n here is especially off. There's no way she'll go out with just anybody. She has a soulmate." She laughs lightly.

You frown at her. "Hey, don't make fun of my family's belief in soul mates. That's our explanation for things."

"Right, right. Because that's what normal people believe for unique things, like in your family."

Bokuto tipped his head to one side. "Is your family different from normal families, Y/n?"

You slowly turn to look at him. "Well, kinda. We're special for reasons I can't say to you. There are just some things we can't tell people."

Akaashi looks between the two of you girls. "I see. I guess that makes sense. Is there something about you two that makes you different from the rest of us?"

You and Maki look at each other, unsure how to answer. You both turn to the boy and speak in unison. "You could say that."
