Spiders Bite!

Chapter 12

Liz's POV

"Ok. So where should we look first Patty?" I looked at my sister. When she was with the others, she kept on a happy face, but alone with me she looked depressed. "Let's start at home."

I hope this works itself out soon. I want Kid and my little sister back. We ran the memorized path back to our home. The manor sat quietly in it's normal spot but it suddenly felt empty. "It doesn't feel right, big sis."

"Yeah. I feel it too. Let's go and get this over with." We walked into the house acting and feeling as if it was abandoned long ago. I left the lights off so we wouldn't scare the spirit off, if there was one.

"Do you see anything?" I looked to Patty and shook my head. "Let's split up and meet back here if we can't find anything."

Patty nodded her head and we separated.

"Did you find anything yet?" Tsubaki and BlackStar entered the manor looking just as worn out as Patty and I. "No. If you two want to take a look around for your spirit, feel free. Just don't go through our stuff."

Tsubaki shook her head and her and BlackStar started to look around. "We're going to go look around town so if you don't mind, lock up after you're done."

"OK. Good luck!" I waved to them, "You too!"

I shut the door behind Patty and me. We walked around the entire city at least once when and idea hit me. "Do you remember the day when we met Kid? In that one alleyway? Maybe we should look there!"

Patty smiled at me, "Yeah! But which alley did we meet in big sis?" I sweatdropped instantly. "Aw hell."

Today was going to be a long busy day.

Tsubaki's POV

"Be careful BlackStar!" I ran around after BlackStar through Kid's manor. He was pretty much destroying everything in his path and I had to fix everything that was moved. I feel like Kid...

"This isn't doing anything!!" BlackStar stopped his rampage after so long and threw himself onto the couch. "BlackStar. We can't give up you know. We just started looking a couple of hours ago..."

My voice trailed off as out of the corner of my eye, I saw a strange line in the wall. I walked up slowly to the line and ran my hand along it. My hand stopped when it went behind a picture on the wall. "Hey BlackStar. Come and help me move this picture. And DON'T destroy it!"

"Ugggghhhh. What does a stupid painting have to do with Kid's stupid spirit!" BlackStar whined from the couch but still got up to help. Together we moved a large painting from the wall and propped it up against the back of the couch.

"I... I think it's a door. Was there always a door here?" BlackStar stood and stared for a minute, "Well if it's a door, how do we open the damn thing?!" he raised his arms and then let them fall to his sides. I put my hand on the wall and attempted to push open the 'door'.

"Maybe there's a way to open  the door. Like a um... like a remote!" I snapped my fingers and BlackStar's face lit up, "Or maybe there's a statue that has a head that flips back, and then there's a big red button you push!"

I sweatdropped again but just nodded my head, "And then there's that option. Start looking. But DO NOT destroy anything!" BlackStar put his hands up in defense and started to excitedly look around the living room. 

After about a good hour or so, I found a tiny box that was hidden in a book that had the center cut out of it. The box needed a key to open it, so BlackStar and I spent another hour looking for a key but with no luck. Maybe Liz or Patty have the key!

I took out my cellphone and texted Liz, "Found something interesting. Mind coming back 2 manor rlly quick?"

Liz replied with a simple 'Ok' and arrived at the house within ten minutes. "So what did you guys find... woah. Did you guys move that painting and cut into the wall?!"

I shook my head quickly, "No, of course not! I just noticed it all of the sudden and then we tried to find a way to open it and we found this box that needs a key to open it." I handed Liz the box, who inspected it.

"Well.. I don't know. Did you guys try the keys in the one drawer?" I shook my head again, "What about the keys that Kid gave us as a welcoming gift?" We all looked to Patty who held a small key. "Oh yeah!" Liz reached down into her shoe and pulled out and almost identical key.

"Do you think one of them will work on the box?" Liz questioned as stared at the box sceptically. "Maybe," I said, "You should try either way!"

Liz nodded and handed the box to Patty after trying her own key, "Mine doesn't work." Patty took the box and opened it with her key.

She opened the box and took out a strange key card that was made completely out of some kind of lightweight metal. "What is it?" Patty asked looking at the card strangely. "I wonder if there's like an invisible scanner that we have to put the card in front of! Or, or maybe a secret slot!"

Liz and I  turned to look at BlackStar, "That isn't such a bad guess, really." I said looking at him a little bit dumbfounded.

Patty handed Liz the card, who went over to the 'door'. "So what am I supposed to do exactly?"

BlackStar snatched the card out of her hand and started to mess around with the 'door' and card until there was a loud bang that came from the 'door'.

BlackStar turned and smiled at us and the pushed open the door.
