An Eerie Midnight

Chapter 22

Chase drove me home, even though he had told me I only healed quickly because of my grace neither of us got why my side was already healed, it felt numb. I felt numb, all of me, like I had no emotions left, maybe chase was right, maybe I was in shock.

I climbed out of chases car and saw crimson and zeek leaning on the porch "where have you been?"Crimson yelled, peppy as per usual

"Out"I replied emotionless

"Me and crimson were thinking about us all going out?"Zeek mentioned

"Oh yeah, being the 3rd wheel is my dream"I replied walking past them

"You don't need to be rude"chase whispered into my ear

"Sorry guys I'm really not feeling to good"I said placing my hand on abdomen

"Cramps"crimson asked

I nodded.

Chases helped me into my room and placed me onto my bed, there was only a week left of the half term, that was more than enough time to recover.

Once chase left I fell asleep curled up in a ball, I was startled when I heard a knock on my bedroom door "come in?"I mumbled through my pillow, I expected drake to walk in but I was alec "alec?"

"Hey"he smiled briefly

"What are you doing here?"I asked

"I had to apologise, I know its abit late but I handled things badly and then ignored you, it was uncalled for and I know you and jared are happy and I'm not here to ruin things-"

"Apology accepted" I smiled "and how would you ruin things?"I asked before I could stop my self

"I know you're his mate and I'm not going to get in the way of that and plus we welcomed that mongrel into out pack"he chuckled

"Nice. Insulting my boyfriend, classy. I'm glad we're cool alec" I said standing up and pulling him into a hug, he felt warm like jared and it made me feel abit better "can tell you something"I whispered slightly crying

"Anything?"He pulled away from the hug still holding onto my hips "are you crying?"

I nodded and pulled up my shirt on the right, there lay a deep red scar, where the surgeon had cut into me "I was attacked"I cried "I'm human"

"What?! How?"He asked shocked

Tears started pouring out my eyes and down my cheek "this monster stole my grace, so now I'm human. No longer an angel"I cried

"You smell the same, I mean you're still the same person and you've got what all of us want, too be normal."He replied trying to comfort me

"I don't want to be normal."

"You're only normal as in your not a supernatural being, but other than that you're not normal. You're weird, you fell in love with a werewolf"he laughed before hugging me tight

"You can't tell jared"I mumbled "I mean he never knew I was.. He thought I was human so don't mention anything"

"Of course, I promise you."He replied "he won't notice, like I said you smell the same" he hugged tight.

Over the next week alec stayed with me and we got closer than ever, he even said he'd pick up jared from the air port with me. Alec made the pain of losing part of me easier, he also numbed the pain of missing jared, with my grace gone all I really had left was jared and with him gone it made me feel sick, alec said that was because of 'mate' bond and that the feeling wasn't one sided.

Alec came round on the friday, I was curled up in bed hugging my knees close to my chest, I had been having nightmares constantly, they were always about the surgeon, in the nightmares he didn't just cut out my grace he also began torturing me. Alec put his hand of my back to comfort me "we need to get out, you need to leave your room"he sighed
