"Please," Scott pleaded with me, "I'm doing my best with him, but I could really use some extra support. Liam has a lot of anger, and he insists on playing the game tonight. I need your help."
"What do you want me to do?" I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest, "Kill off his adoptive father, force him into denial, and then send him into a potentially deadly coma?"
"Oh," Scott blinked at me before shaking his head softly, "No, definitely not."
I forced a narrow smile, pulling my biology textbook out of my locker and stuffing it into my bag, "Look, just because I was angry, it doesn't mean I know how to fix it."
"Then don't," Scott rushed out as I slammed my locker shut and began walking away from him, "just try and talk to him, tell him that there are better ways to process things other than getting angry."
"You want me to lie?" I pulled a face, slipping my bag onto my shoulder.
Scott grabbed my arm lightly, his face slightly concerned, "What?"
I looked around the corridor before sighing heavily and brushing his hand off, "I don't think the cure to everything is meditation and calmness. Anger can be good. It can keep people alive." I stuck my finger out before poking his chest, "You could try it once in a while. It might stop you from getting your ass handed to you by every supernatural creature on earth."
Scott huffed, rolling his eyes before he joined my side, walking with me, "I understand needing anger, but... not as much as this kid has. It's like he's constantly buzzing, and I don't know what to say to him or do for him."
"Have you tried ignoring him until he has to bottle up his emotions and suck it up?" I offered, taking a quick look at his outraged face, "I have a feeling you were parented very differently to me."
"Yeah," Scott blurted out nervously, "I think so." He stopped me again, holding his arm out, "Please, Korey. Talk to him."
"He attacked Isaac," I stated bluntly, "we tried to help him last week when you called, and he flung Isaac into a tree because Isaac was trying to be gentle."
"I know," Scott dragged his hand down his face, "I know."
"If Chris hadn't been there, I would have had to drain him entirely," I quipped, "because I was mad enough to take everything from him. I sorted my anger, but it's still there. Don't forget that I am just as likely to hurt someone as Liam is."
"I understand that," Scott nodded quickly.
I huffed, "If I talk to him, it'll be the basic shit: 'you'll be okay', 'we all struggle', 'take it easy'."
"Perfect," Scott agreed swiftly, his hand finding my shoulder and rotating me towards the ground floor where the changing rooms were. "Thank you so much, I owe you big time."
I rolled my eyes, hurrying along after him and trying to figure out how exactly I was supposed to convince a fifteen year old that you couldn't punch your problems away. I punched all of my problems away when I was fifteen, and I turned out fine; it felt hypocritical.
I stopped short outside of the changing room, taking in short whiff of air before my head snapped up, and I glared at Scott. "You called Derek?!"
"I thought he could help," Scott murmured out weakly.
"With what? Getting the kid to wreck the school?" I quipped, shoving the changing room door open.
"Where is my stick?" Grass and chilli blended together struck my nose as Liam appeared on the other side of the door.
