"There is no distance too far between friends, for friendship gives wings to the heart." —Kathy Kay Benudiz

My phone was ringing the next morning, waking me up. Looking at the caller ID, it was Rodina. I just let it ring because it was too early. It stopped ringing and she called right back.

"Hello?"

"Heyy!" Rodina shouted. I withdrew the phone from my ear.

"Good morning, child."

"I'm older, but what you mean morning? It's almost 12:30. Get yo' booty out the bed!" Squinting at the phone screen, she was right.

"Okay. Y'all down here yet?" I questioned.

"Yes, that's why I called— address, please."

I gave her the address and she informed me they would be here in an hour.

I got Taylor up and ready. It took three years to get her out the bed. Yesterday must have really drained her. We headed to McDonald's. I didn't feel like cooking nor did we want cereal and you can never go wrong with Micky D's.

I drove to the drive-thru.

"Welcome to McDonald's, may I take your order?"

"Yes, can I have 2 buffalo ranch McChickens, small fries, a chicken nugget kid's meal, a medium Hi C and a large sweet tea? That will be all."

"Your total is $11.47."

I drove up to the windows and paid and got our food. Just smelling this food making my taste buds tingle.

"Thank you!" Taylor said.

"Welcome." I swear this girl be getting so excited over the smallest things. Smh.

When we got home, we just finished whatever we didn't eat in the car. after that I made sure Taylor's bed was made up and I heard a horn beep outside. I ran so fast you would've thought I was on a football field.

"Rodina, Shanti, White Girl!" I screamed as soon as I got out the door. I missed them.

We had our mini reunion at the truck. Taylor was so happy to see Robyn and Kaila. White Girl didn't have any siblings. She's a dark skin, slim with curves and was really pretty. Her Real Name is Samara. We gave her the nickname because she is an oreo, black on the outside and white on the inside. Rodina wasn't dark skin but she wasn't light skin, she was a milk chocolate complexion, she has a big smile. Shanti's real name is ShaunT'erica (Shawn-T-Erica). She's the light skin of the crew, she has a chubby face and dimples in either cheeks. She was average-looking. I mean, they're not model types and Barbie doll faces but they're far from ugly.

-Later That Night

"...18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 28, 30! Ready or not, here I come!" I announced.

We were now playing hide and seek... in the dark. It was too funny to Hear somebody run into something. I was walking with my hands out as though I were a mummy; I'm not going to be next to hit something.

Walking out of the kitchen and into the living room, I belly flopped onto the couch. Whoever this is, I guess she thought laying down on the couch was the best hiding spot.

"Ouch girl!" Rodina.

"You're caught!" I said dying from laughter.

I continued the hunt. Next stop, the bathroom. I drew the shower curtains back and saw two figures. One of the oldest hiding spots is in the bathtub. Since it was the little ones, I simply closed the curtains back and turned to leave the bathroom.
