Substitute Bride

CHAPTER - 10

Kartik’s pov:-

I was busy with some clients when I heard my name. I turned around and saw Vedika. She came near me and hugged me. My whole family was a bit shocked because i let her hug me. The most important thing for me was Naira who was watching me with a shock and disappointment in her eyes. Oh no! This is not good. I have to explain to her. Vedika left me and went towards Naira and hugged her.

Vedika: Sorry Naira, I didn't mean to run away from the wedding . i just wanted to set up my career. Pls forgive me. I am happy for you that you got a man like Kartik. He is really a nice guy and will always take care of you. Never think of yourself as my Substitute. I know mom doesn’t like you but for me you will always be my elder sister.

Naira had tears in her eyes and hugged Vedika tightly. She looked at me with her eyes which made my heart sad. I never want her to cry but today is different.

Subham: So it's you who called Vedika. How did you find?

Sudham whispered, coming towards me. I nodded.

“I saw her a few days ago in a cafe. I asked her about her leave, she apologised and even asked me to take care of Naira. I genuinely forgave her and asked her to come and meet her sister.”

Swarna : You did it right beta.

Swarna told who heard all the conversation.

Author’s pov:-

Soon the guests started leaving. Only Naksh, Kirti and Vedika were left.

Manish: What happened Kartik, why did you ask us to stay?

Kartik: Actually i have a surprise for Naira.

Naira: For me ?

Kartik nodded and walked with Naksh towards her. Naira was confused.

Kartik: Let me introduce him to you first.

Naira: I already know him, Kartik. He is Naksh.

Kartik: No, except being Naksh he is something else.

Naksh: Stop creating confusion for her.

Kartik: Ok, I am coming straight to the point. So everyone meet him, Naksh Singhania, elder brother of Naira who went missing many years ago.

As soon as these words left Kartik's mouth, everyone went into shock and soon understood his words and felt happy for Naira while Naira was just looking at Naksh with tears in her eyes. Naksh moved a little bit forward and hugged her. Feeling the brotherly touch, Naira broke down. She started crying.

Naksh: Shh, don't cry gudiya.

Naira: I missed you alot bhai. After you left me I became a complete orphan. Rajiv uncle adopted me but still i missed you and maa papa a lot.

She was sobbing and telling.

Naksh: I know my gudiya, see now your brother has returned , no one will take you away from me.

Naira took some time to calm down. The whole family was happy to see the sibling duo.

As it was already night, Naksh , Kirti and Vedika were asked to stay back for the night.

Naira escorted them to their respective rooms. While returning back she saw Kartik standing near the door of her room.

Naira: Kartik, what are you doing here?

Kartik: Actually I need your help in something, can you come to my room pls.

Naira: ok i am coming after 5 mins.

Naira’s pov:

I drank some water and walked towards Kartik’s room. As I entered the room. I saw all the lights were off.

“Kartik, where are you ?? Why are these lights off?”

The lights switch on. The view in front of me shocked me. I saw pictures of me flashing on a projector. Lights are decorated beautifully , flower petal all over the room. I was mesmerised by the decoration when I heard a cough which took me  out of my lala world. I saw Kartik standing at the door and smiling at me.

Kartik: Did you love the decoration??

“I loved it but why all this for me?”

Kartik moved towards me and bent down. He took a ring out of his pocket and showed it in front of me.

Is he proposing to me ?? I thought.
Yes idiot, ,my subconscious mocked

Kartik: I love you Naira. I love you so much that I can't even tell. First days of our marriage I was so rude to you but after I fell for you I wanted to give us a chance. A chance to be together, not for 1 year or 2 but for my whole life and till 7 lives. I love you a lot.

I couldn't even tell how happy I was. I bent down to his height and hugged him.

Kartik: Should I take this hug as a yes??

“Yes, I love you Kartik. I love you too.”

Kartik hugged me and started crying. I was crying too.

After a few minutes, we were sitting in the balcony hugging each other and our hands intertwined with each other.

Kartik: So from now onwards we are staying together in my room so let's start packing your things and bringing them here.

“Can we do it tomorrow?”

Kartik: ok love.

We slept cuddling with each other.
