I am bewildered

"Can't you just tone it down a bit? You're as loud as a marching band!" Zhehan complained, taken aback by the sudden shout that sounded like a misplaced alarm clock. "I'm only loud because you've turned a deaf ear on me! Not answering me leaves me with two conclusions: either you're deaf or you're...well, not among the living," Gong Jun defended himself with a hint of frustration.

Zhehan let out an exasperated sigh, realizing he was dealing with a stubborn, reckless, and somewhat clueless individual. "Alright, fine. Let me answer your pressing question. Ta-da! Welcome to Xiao's mansion," Zhehan introduced the haunted abode with a touch of sarcasm.

"Proud of it, are you human? So selfish! Why can't you just explain things clearly? Xiao's mansion, the haunted dwelling sure lives up to its reputation," Gong Jun remarked, mixing sarcasm with genuine bewilderment.

An awkward silence enveloped the conversation until Zhehan decided to break it. "If you don't mind me asking, why are you here?" he inquired, attempting to break the ice.

Gong Jun took a moment to contemplate before sharing his story, "It's all my father's doing, or so I thought. Yet, it's not really about him pushing me here. It's those people... The ones who betrayed my father, shattered his trust, and left him with nothing. Seeking vengeance, my father turned to me, his carefree and somewhat clueless son, but his lack of trust in me led to this peculiar punishment-to live alone in this old, unwanted haunted mansion. It's not exactly my idea of a good time..." Gong Jun explained, revealing the unexpected twist in his tale.

"What about you? What's your story?" Gong Jun inquired, curious about Zhehan's mysterious past.

Zhehan fell silent for a moment, sighing before reluctantly sharing, "I'm the heir, but that's not my style. Being stubborn, I rebelled, only to end up haunted by my persistent father. Escaping the haunting, I found myself in this haunted mansion, where the ghostly shenanigans have been my unwanted reality for over three months now..."

Gong Jun listened, absorbing the information before a sudden realization struck him. "Three months?! Wait! So, where do you even eat?" Gong Jun panicked, realizing the ghostly challenge of food and survival in a haunted mansion. As an ardent lover of food and cooking, the thought of limited sustenance was a nightmare in itself.

Zhehan, with a mix of annoyance and amusement, responded, "Don't fret, there are fruits in the backyard, and if you dare, you can hunt some rabbits for meat. Remember your baggage when you arrived? There should be a torch or supplies inside for your convenience." Zhehan reassured Gong Jun, attempting to ease his concerns.

Feeling a sense of relief and camaraderie in Zhehan's words, Gong Jun found solace in the unexpected support. Despite the eerie surroundings, he found a strange comfort in their newfound connection.

As they conversed, Gong Jun's curiosity piqued, leading him to ask, "Are there any ghosts in this mansion that are as gentle as angels? Last night, I had a peculiar experience..."

Zhehan, caught off guard and slightly flustered, suddenly perked up, his drowsiness replaced with a hint of embarrassment. "I-I...I don't know!" he blurted out, cutting off Gong Jun's train of thought.

Gong Jun, surprised by the abrupt response, paused before asking, "Are you upset with me?"

Zhehan, still flustered, stammered, "Huh?"

"It felt like you were holding a grudge. Is it because of last night? I'm sorry if that's the case," Gong Jun apologized, trying to mend any unintentional rift between them.

"Sorry? For what?" Zhehan nervously inquired, his mind still preoccupied with the events from the previous night.

"I'm just sorry for waking you up," Gong Jun clarified, attempting to diffuse any tension between them.

Zhehan, lost in his thoughts, could only whisper, "I...am bewildered."
