What feels like hours pass as I slowly watch the moon disappear from the sky as the morning light starts to shine through the bare, dust covered window. It's clear this isn't a place where someone lives, but more of an abandoned building nobody has entered in a long time. I wonder where I am as I lay on the ground with only a bathrobe underneath me. As I watch the sun move higher into the sky I hear a noise in the other room. I listen as a door opens and closes, followed by two men talking.
One of the voices I recommend as my captor,  but the other one is someone I've never heard before.

'But we had a deal' the unknown man shouts.

'You didn't honestly think I'd let you go. Especially after what you did to that poor little town girl?'

He's talking about Hayley. I can feel it in my bones. My kidnapper is talking to the person who attacked Hayley. The person who put a time limit on her life.

'But I gave you that other alpha. Let me go.'

'Let's not do this whole song and dance, just get in that room'

'Okay, okay. I'll do whatever you say' the mysterious voice says as he backs up into the room I'm trapped in.

The hunter appears in front of him, holding a large gun up to his face as he marches the other man into a cage next to mine before he locks it, trapping him.

'Please, I'm begging you. I can help you find more?' The stranger offers

'You've served your purpose. I have no more need of you. Enjoy your last night.'

'Please... Rigel. You can't do this to me.'

'Have fun with your little friend' the abductor tells him as he walks back out of the room, leaving us alone.

I feel sick as I look to the person next to me. He's the reason why Hayley's dead and he's the one who apparently led the hunter to our doorstep, just to try and save his own skin.
The old skinny man, with an unshaven beard and an empty look in his eye as he stares back at me.

'What?' He says with a bite in his voice.

'You better hope he kills you before I get a chance to do it myself.'

He sucks his teeth at my comment, taken aback by my hatred.

'As if you wouldn't hand over someone else to try and save yourself. If you think you'd die before then you're as naive as you look little girl.'

'You're a coward' I hiss at him. 'But I won't be doing it for Apollo. You die for Hayley'

He scoffs at me, letting out a laugh at my words.

'I don't even know a Hayley, little girl.'

'The blonde you attacked a few weeks ago?'

His eyes widen as he looks at me.

'Her name was Hayley. She died because of you.'

'And who are you?'

'Your worst nightmare' I growl at him through the metal bars. The only thing stopping me and my rage.

'Well you can just forget about your vendetta. That hunter will kill me and you before he lets us free'

'I have someone coming for me'

'Then they're a fool... and as good as dead.'

Then his eyes drift down to my stomach as his eye widen.

'You're pregnant?' He asks

'What's that got to do with you?'

'It's just been a long time since I've seen a pregnant wolf. You remind me of someone I used to know a long time ago...' he says as he drifts off into his own thoughts. A glaze covering his eyes as he stares off into the distance a tear rolling down his cheek.

I feel myself starting to feel sorry for the old man until i remember he's the reason I'm trapped in this cage, why Hayley is dead and why my mate is about to willingly walk into a trap that could potentially get him killed. The thought of losing the family I've only just found feels like I've been stabbed in the gut. My hand moves to my tummy as I feel the familiar movement of my babies. The reason why I need to find a way out of here. I need to protect my family. I need to fight for them.

'He won't let you live. You're as good as dead. And that baby.'

I don't correct him as he speaks, but I refuse to give up like he has. I refuse to accept this fate for myself. I will get out of here and live my life.

'You're wrong' is the last thing I say to him as I turn my back on him, wishing to not speak to this traitor anymore.
