When I wake the next morning, I find myself looking at Tae's sleeping face. I can't help but stare at him. His hair is falling slightly over his eyes and his lips are in a cute pout. Hearing movement from the doorway, I lift my head and see Jimin standing there, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, watching us both with a smile on his face.
"I want to take you both somewhere for the weekend. Just the three of us in a cabin in the middle of nowhere."
"That sounds amazing."
"We should get on the road then. Wake sleeping beauty there and get your bags packed."
He turns and leaves and a minute later I hear him rummaging in the kitchen. Turning back towards Tae, I brush the hair from his face. Leaning closer, I place a kiss on his nose and he stirs a little.
"Tae," I say softly. "Tae, honey. You need to wake up."
He shifts a little and then his eyes blink open. When they focus on my face he gives me a small smile and pulls me to him tightly, burying his face in my neck and sighing.
"This is absolutely perfect."
"Jimin said we need to get up and get our bags packed. He is taking us on a little trip this weekend."
He nods at me, finally letting go, and gets out of bed, passing Jimin at the doorway. Jimin kisses him on the cheek as he goes by. In a little over an hour, we are all packed and ready to go. Tae loads the bags into the trunk of his car while Jimin and I wait by the door. I am excited for this weekend but also nervous. Everything between us is different now. The drive to the cabin starts in an awkward silence but quickly becomes more relaxed as Tae and Jimin start telling stories of vacations they have been on and the outrageous things that would happen.
I was wondering what kind of cabin he was able to book last minute, this close to Christmas. The cabin comes into view around the next turn and I gasp. It is absolutely gorgeous. There hasn't been a sign of civilization for miles. The cabin is completely isolated. Tae parks the car, and we all climb out, each of us grabbing bags. Once the suitcases are in we all carry the groceries inside. We stopped in town and got enough food to last us for a week even though we would only be here for three days.
The inside of the cabin is beautiful with high ceilings and large stone fireplaces in the living room and both bedrooms. The back of the cabin has floor-to-ceiling windows and there is a hot tub on the back porch. Jimin takes our suitcases to the bedroom and I see one of the biggest beds I have ever seen. After unpacking, we go into the living room.
"Jimin this is amazing. How did you find this place?"
"It is mine. Well, it belongs to my family."
"Why have I never been here?" Tae asks.
"Well, I mean it is kind of a romantic spot and I never had a reason to be romantic with you. Up until now, that is." He says cheekily.
This makes them both blush.
"What should we do first?" I ask, looking at both of them.
"How about a walk?" Jimin suggests. "There's a trail behind the cabin that leads to an amazing overlook."
We grab our jackets and head out. The trail is mostly flat and it is peaceful walking out in the brisk air. When we reach the overlook after a ten-minute walk I can't believe what I am seeing. The sun is casting a golden glow over the landscape. We stand there, taking it all in, feeling the beauty of the moment.
"I love you both," I say, breaking the silence "Tae, I know the soulmate thing is new for you but I have loved you as a friend for a while. I just wanted you both to know."
