Three days had passed.

I sat in the inn, holding the same position for three days.

The candle on the table had burned out.

Fang Wen Zhou still hadn't returned.

I stood up and sighed, realizing that I still didn't have the ruthlessness a demon should possess.

There was no helping it; he always indulged me.

If he died, there would be no one to spoil me.

I had to find him.

Just as I stepped outside, I saw his figure emerging from the rain.

He was in his usual white clothes, now stained with blood.

The sword still hung at his waist, clean and cold from the rain.

Seeing what he held in his hand, I was stunned.

Those were demon cores, and for them to be so large, they must have belonged to powerful demons.

He had over a dozen in his hand.

He really killed those great demons of Mountain Qi.

My mother's revenge was taken by someone else.

And it was by an annoying Taoist.

Fang Wen Zhou walked up to me, seeing my dazed expression. He smiled as if nothing was wrong and playfully tapped my nose.

But before I could speak, he wavered and would have fallen if I hadn't caught him.

Fang Wen Zhou passed out.

I found he had been poisoned by the snake demon's lust poison. Those afflicted would lose their senses, tormented by intense desire, feeling as if countless worms crawled all over them, and the only cure was intercourse.

He had held on until he got back.

I was the one who put him in such danger.

I gritted my teeth and decided to go all out. I just had to treat it as harvesting yang energy [1]!

Stripping off his clothes, I saw that he didn't have many wounds on his body.

The blood on his clothes must have belonged to the great demons.

Having never done this before, I nervously bit his collarbone and licked his lips.

Fang Wen Zhou was still unconscious, his face pale and bloodless.

He groaned, clearly uncomfortable.

I knew he was fighting the lust poison.

But this poison had no cure other than intercourse; the more he resisted, the stronger the desire would grow.

I pressed myself against him, using the knowledge other foxes had taught me, engaging in the act.

At first, I was clumsy, but then I found the rhythm.

Fang Wen Zhou's furrowed brows relaxed considerably. His body was hot, making me feel hot too.

Only then I realized that intercourse could be so pleasurable.

I admit I was too carried away the first time, a bit careless, letting my fox tail show.

And Fang Wen Zhou suddenly regained consciousness halfway through.

His long hand grabbed my fox tail.

At that moment, it felt like he had grasped my lifeline.

Under the influence of the lust poison, Fang Wen Zhou's eyes flickered between clarity and struggle, and confusion and desire.

He flipped me under him, clutching the base of my tail, his voice hoarse and cold:

"You're a demon?"

To clarify, I didn't mean to knock Fang Wen Zhou out with a punch.

My fox tail was very sensitive and fragile, and having it gripped in his hand reminded me of the demons he had killed.

I didn't have much confidence that Fang Wen Zhou, knowing I was a demon and having intentionally sent him to Mountain Qi, would still spare me.

After all the activity just now, the poison in his body was almost completely cleansed. Now, he was at his weakest.

The rabbit demon urged me:

"He knows you're a demon now, and he's at his weakest. You should kill him while you have the chance."

I shook my head. "He avenged my mother. I may be a demon, but I can't be ungrateful."

"You're a fox. Why follow human morals? If he wakes up, he'll definitely kill you. And even if you don't kill him, other demons will come for him in these few days."

I knew.

Fang Wen Zhou had killed so many demons over the years. Now that he was unconscious, many demons would come for revenge.

I said, "I'll protect him."

The rabbit demon was exasperated:

"Are you in love with Fang Wen Zhou?"

"He's a demon hunter, and you're a demon. You can't be together!"

The rain continued for three days and nights.

The rabbit demon was right.

During this time, many demons learned that Fang Wen Zhou was injured from battling the great demons of Mountain Qi and came for revenge.

I was glad that I had always cultivated diligently; I could barely handle the demons that came.

For those I couldn't deal with, I took out the talismans and nets Fang Wen Zhou used for catching demons and threw them all at once.

Just when I was about to collapse, Fang Wen Zhou finally woke up.

The long rainy days also cleared up.

I was nearly exhausted, pulling him out of bed to deal with the demons.

I lay down on the bed to catch up on sleep.

I hadn't closed my eyes for days.

When I woke up, I found that Fang Wen Zhou had dealt with the demons that came for revenge, as expected.

The room was quiet, and the mess had been cleaned up.

Fang Wen Zhou stood by my bed.

I knew what he was thinking.

I took out the demon-detecting bell voluntarily, and it didn't ring.

I didn't know if he still remembered what happened after he was poisoned by the snake, or if he remembered touching my fox tail.

However, the snake poison itself caused hallucinations.

I just needed to prove to him that I wasn't a demon.

Yawning, I wanted to continue sleeping, but I heard him say:

"Did you use all the demon-hunting talismans?"

He sounded a bit helpless, yet indulgent.

I didn't care and snorted:

"It was to save you. The demons came; were we supposed to wait for them to eat us?"

After spending a long time with him, I realized that I wasn't that afraid of him anymore.

I had even become a lot more audacious under his care.

Fang Wen Zhou seemed to be deep in thought.

He looked at me for a while, then coughed, and his voice sounded somewhat unnatural.

He said, "Did you cure the poison I was affected by?"

My heart skipped a beat.

There was no excuse for this.

Thinking of Fang Wen Zhou's tempting physique, I licked my lips.

No doubt, there were still my teeth marks on his collarbone.

Seeing my silence, Fang Wen Zhou also fell silent.

However, his ears were much redder than before.

After a while, he said, "I'll take responsibility."

"Next month, we will get married."

[1] "Harvesting yang to supplement yin" (采阳补阴) or "harvesting yin to supplement yang" (采阴补阳) is a Taoist cultivation practice. This method involves achieving a balance of "yin" and "yang" within the body through sexual intercourse between a man and a woman. "Harvesting yang to supplement yin" refers to a woman benefiting from a man's yang energy, while "harvesting yin to supplement yang" refers to a man benefiting from a woman's yin energy.
