I don't get to respond before there is a knock on the door.

"Come in" I say as I walk over to the bar, I have a feeling I am going to need a drink for whatever Andrei is going to bring us. I drop in a few ice cubes in the glass and pour a couple fingers of whiskey while Andrei sets his laptop up on my desk.

"So I just want to put out there that I feel very wrong doing this because I would never go through any of your guys' stuff."

"I know but I need more information, I don't want the details, just the basics. Hold on, let me call the other two." I dial Ivan and wait as the phone rings.

"Hey Dimitri, what's up?"

"I'm putting you on speaker, I had Andrei pull her record from child services." I turn the speaker on and place it on my desk. "Andrei go."

"So it looks like she was dropped off at a fire station when she was five, the February before mom passed. In total she was in ten foster placements between two counties, for the following two years. Then for the two years after that she is in a group home in Colorado, then she gets placed with a family who start the adoption process for her, the report says she was being homeschooled like the rest of the kids in the house. She was reported missing from summer camp. After a month labeled as a runaway and her file closed."

"Wait, I thought you said there were no police records on her?" Alex speaks up

"There isn't, I checked too." Andrei says quietly. I know he's struggling with this whole situation, he puts on a tough front, but he is the most emotional out of the boys.

"What about this summer camp? And what would cause her to run away?" I ask, mostly thinking out loud.

"There was nothing about the camp, I pulled up a list of them in that area, but none of the records are digitized. Sorry."

"It's okay Andrei. Thank you, why don't you go see what the twins are up to?"

"Yeah, okay." He grabs his laptop and leaves. After hearing the door click Ivan speaks up.

"One of us needs to talk to him D. He doesn't seem okay."

"I'll talk to him tonight if he's still up, and Alex is here just so you know."

"Hey dude, glad you're back for all this, also I am here with Nik. We are hanging outside her apartment."

"Okay, so what have you two found out?"

"Ivan fought tonight." Nik says.

"Damn it dude, you weren't supposed to tell him."

"Ow what the fuck, no need for violence." I look at Alex who is trying not to laugh at the bickering.

"No need for snitching either."

"That's enough, I don't care, what have you found out about Nova? And how difficult is it going to be to bring her home?"

"Well the gym owner pulled her off the card, said she took a bad hit last week and refused medical. That's how I ended up fighting."

"Other than that nothing new other than her not eating. All she had today was an apple she bought at the cafeteria, and she threw half of that away, looked to be spoiled from what I saw. I just want to send her all the food."

"Okay, well make sure she eats something tomorrow, I am assuming you already have a new plan for contact being that she wasn't fighting tonight."

"Yeah, calls have been made, my hope is to be back on the plane and heading home by noon. I think you should have a doctor on standby, I don't know how badly she was injured, and she definitely looks underweight."
