The next day at school, during the break, Hikari was walking trough the halls. She approached a random guy and asked him if he knew what was Ushijima's class. Luckily, that boy was from his class, class 1-3.
What??? Ushijima was right next to her class and she didn't notice? Hikari felt very stupid in that moment.
She ran towards class 3 and entered without any problem, looking for Ushijima. Then she saw him, he was sitting on his chair finishing some salad. He didn't talk to anyone, despite everyone looking at him.
-Ushijima!-
He looked up, hearing his name being shouted by a familiar voice.
-Ah, Maki-
-You can call me Hikari!- she said getting closer to him.
-Alright, Hikari, why are you here-
-I just wanted to say hi...and I also wanted to ask you if you would accompany me to the vending machines!-
-There's no point arguing with you...let's go- he said getting up.
Hikari screamed in her head. The two of them went out of the class and walked towards the vending machines.
-This school is so big I could get lost anytime! That's also a reason why I wanted you to come with me- she said.
-Making me get lost too might not be the best idea-
-Oh here we are! Why are the vending machines so distant from our classes?-
Hikari said while buying both sweet and salty snacks, then she turned to Ushijima.
-Which one do you want?-
Ushijima was a little surprised, not expecting Hikari to buy him anything.
-I'll pick the sweet one- he responded taking it.
-Oh so you're more of a sweet one! I like salty things-
He sighed.
-Don't do the same as yesterday with the ray of sunshine and the rain cloud thing-
-But it's silly that we're complete opposites, don't you think?- she exclaimed smiling.
Ushijima didn't respond to that, and started eating the sweet snack. Hikari changed subject.
-Ugh, now I have history class, I hate history...-
-History is an important subject-
-I know, but the teacher makes it boring...I honestly prefer math and science classes-
-Really? That's interesting...-
Hikari leaned on the railing and Ushijima looked at the clock.
-We better be going now, class is about to begin, we shouldn't be late on our first days-
-Oh, alright, let's go then!- Hikari said picking Ushijima's hand.
She started running to not be late, dragging Ushijima with her.
-We shouldn't run, you might slip-
-You said we shouldn't be late!-

But when Hikari thought she entered her class, it was actually the third years classroom, everyone looked at her and she immediately closed the door, it was class 3-2, not 1-2...
-Uh...this is not where we're supposed to be...- she trembled.
-Wait, maybe we took the wrong staircase-
As they went back to their steps, they reached a hallway, Hikari opened a door, it was the science laboratory. Ushijima made them take another way, he opened a big door, and as soon as he did that, a ball hit is face, that was the gym. He stood still, without saying anything and closed the door.
-OH MY GOD USHIJIMA ARE YOU OKAY???- Hikari screamed.
-Yes, I'm fine, let's go back- he said walking away, as if nothing had happened.
As they looked for their classes, Hikari checked the clock.
-Aaah! Class is about to staaart!!-
-Don't worry, I'm sure this is the way-
-I knew we would get lost!-
As they wandered around the halls, a school staff member caught them and scolded them for not being in class. They explained the situation and they were guided to their classrooms.
-Well...at least we made it (almost) in time...- Hikari said, she was afraid that Ushijima was mad at her for making him get lost.
But when she looked at him, he had a smile on his face. She frightened, he was smiling???
-I had fun, I have to admit, let's meet during breaks more often, without getting lost this time- he said while entering his class.
Hikari looked at him, her cheeks getting slightly pink.
-Yeah...that would be...nice-
She stood a bit longer before returning to her class and sitting at her usual place next to Tendo, eager to tell him what had happened once they'd go to have lunch.

-So you managed to talk to Ushijima! I did too during practice you know? He's a nice guy!- Tendo said eating.
-I know right? And he smiled at me! I was shocked!- Hikari said, she suddenly turned to look around, hoping for Ushijima to not be near them or he could hear her yapping about him.
He chuckled.
-Are you sure it's just admiration that you feel? It looks like you have a crush on him-
-What?! Tendo I already told you...-
-I know chill, I was just teasing you-
-Stop then...- she said looking down, as she noticed Ushijima sitting to a table near them.
