Chapter 6: Creative Writing

POV: Amara

The bell rang and Travis left. Me and Aphmau looked at each other questioning what Travis just said. "Did he just say he takes French?" I questioned looking at Aphmau who had the same expression. "I think so?" She said, making it sound more like a question.

"Anyways let's get to class. We don't want to be late like yesterday." I said with Aph nodding in agreement. We exited the classroom and headed to our next period.

Once we got to the classroom after roaming the halls for the past 5 minutes, we made it to the class with 2 minutes to spare. We saw 2 girls standing outside by a window of our classroom, but I just ignored them. When we got in the classroom, I scanned the classroom when I saw him talking to his best friend who sat next to him. OMI, no, no no no. I can't be in the same class as him. I might embarrass myself in front of him and I won't be able to focus, not like I actually pay attention in these types of classes. I'm not the best at writing, but I'm getting off track. My heart began to pound so hard; I thought it was going to come out of my chest. I looked at Aph, who had the same expression as me.

"Hey, it's you guys." I heard Laurence say. OMI, his voice, I could just listen to it for hours. It's like a melody. I think I said that already but whatever, I don't care because its true.

"Ah, the freshman from yesterday." Garroth added.

"Are they talking to us?" I heard Aphmau say loud enough for them to hear.

"Yeah. We're talking to you guys." Laurence said with a confused expression. I just smiled while I looked at Aph who was just standing there looking at them.

"Are they reading my thoughts?" I heard Aph ask.

"No Aph, you're saying it out loud." I gritted through my teeth keeping my smile.

"Hahahaha" Aphmau laughed awkwardly. I mentally face palmed at her. C'mon Aph, not now. Don't be embarrassing now.

"She's joking. Very funny Aph." I blurted out. They looked at each other and shrugged it off. They offered to sit with them, and we awkwardly agreed. We started having a nice conversation. I learned that Laurence dyed his hair orange his freshman year. Apparently, he has a sister Cadenza which is a pretty name I have to admit. Just imagine Laurence with orange hair, I mean he would look good, but I love his brown locks. It suits him perfectly. We also learned that Garroth and Laurence became friends because they kept on running into each other during freshman year. Laurence was also homeschooled but only during elementary school. Then the bell rang, and we headed to our next classes. I feel like I was as a tomato but who cares, I bet no-one even noticed.

POV: APHMAU

Mara's face was red, but it seemed like no-one even noticed but ok. Maybe they are not good at looking at their environment. Well, we're off to our next class which is Witchcraft Travis told us about. It sounds kind of exciting to be honest. Making potions and experimenting sounds fun. We finally found the classroom which was conveniently close. We entered the classroom to see 2 girls arguing. It was that blue haired girl from yesterday and an orange haired girl. When the blue haired saw me, she pulled me to in front of her and said, "Well then she'll be my new best friend." She said to the orange haired girl.

"Oh yeah, well then this girl is my new best friend and she's way better." The orange haired girl spoke pulling Amara towards her.

"Well, ahhh, what's your name again." The blue-haired asked me.

"Ha! Don't even know her name." The orange haired girl said rolling her eyes.

"I bet you don't even know her name." the blue-haired girl said.

"Yes, I do. Her name is uhhhh..." The orange haired said.

"Ha see you-" Then they started arguing again. I looked at Amara who had a confuse expression then we saw someone throw a potion between the two girls. A white light flashed blinding us for a couple of seconds. The next thing we knew, we saw the two girls disappear and 2 cats take their plac.

We looked in the direction from where the potion came from and saw an elderly woman who had a witch's hat. I am assuming that she is our teacher for this year. She then spoke; "You two, always arguing about nonsense. My dearest apologies young ladies. You see my daughter and her friend always argue over the stupidest thing." She told us. The cats meowed in annoyance. "Oh, hush you two!" She told the two cats who were on the floor. I looked at the cats and saw one was orange and one was blue. "Wait she's your daughter?!" I asked looking at the woman surprised.

"Yes, the orange cat is my daughter. She can be a handful." The woman said earning an angry meow from the cat. "Well as an apology, you guys can help me demonstrate on how to make the potion I will be teaching the class today." The miss offered us. "We are in. Right Aph?" Amara asked me. I nodded in agreement. "Amazing, now you two." She said looking down at the two cats that were still on the floor. "As a punishment, you two will sit next to each other for the rest of the period." She explained. The cats did not like that idea, so they meowed angerly. The teacher just ignored it and went outside to get something I am assuming.

"I can't believe that we get to sit next to cats!" I exclaimed to Amara who was not very happy.

"I don't think its going to go as you think it will Aph." She said to me. What does she mean by not going to go the way I think? Cats are amazing and cool. And this is the best day of my life!

"Oh, hush Amara. It will be awesome!" I told her even more excited than before. She just sighed and we sat behind the two cats.

It has been 10 minutes and the cats have not shut up since. Just meowing and meowing and meowing, Ugh! I feel like my ears are going to bleed of how much they are meowing. I was getting more annoyed by the second until I finally had enough. I stood up and shouted, "Can you guys shut up for one second!" They both looked at me and finally shut up. Yes, thank Irene for that. As I sat down, I saw Amara with a smirk on her face and I knew what she was about to say.

"Ready to admit that I was right." She said with a smirk on her face.

"Just shut up" I told her annoyed even more now. Can this school day just end already? I just want to go home.
