The crowd roared as she finished her performance. I told her they'd love it. She did great.
She ran back to me with a wide smile and a beautiful glow on her face. "That was amazing! You did so good!" I hugged her and she wrapped her arms around my neck. "Thank you, so much." I looked into her eyes, wanting to say it so badly, but not wanting to make it awkward. I mean, we've been together for 3 months now.. I love you is bound to be said soon enough. But is it too soon?
She gave me a confused look and I cracked a smile. "Just thinking." She accepted the response, even though I knew she didn't believe me and would ask me about it later.
The after party was crazy. I was bumping elbows with some of the biggest names in Hollywood right now. I don't know why I still get so nervous around all these people, I've pretty much hung around all of them at least once since Katy and I started our relationship. "Ty!" I looked over and saw Katy's best friend, Shannon waving me over. "Come here! Sit down, enjoy yourself. You look stressed out." I walked over to her hesitantly. I've had a few conversations with her here and there, but not enough to make me believe I could trust her with my secrets, or enough to tell her what's on my mind.
"Hey, Shannon," I said as I took a seat next to her. "Wasn't Katy amazing tonight? She looked beautiful. I know she was proud of that performance. She wanted it to go perfectly for you." I shot my head up and smiled my goofy half smile. "Why for me?" Shannon slapped my arm and scoffed. Was I missing something? "She wrote that song for you. That was her first public performance of it. She wanted it to be special for you.. She really loves you, Tyson."
I watched Katy dance in the middle of the dancefloor and thought about what Shannon said.. For me.. And Katy really loves me.
