Rowen.
A few days had passed, and the weather was cold and wet, with a steady stream of rain falling down, drenching the courtyard of the castle in its glistening sheen.
The grey skies cast a sombre light over the surroundings as I stood at the iron gates, waiting for my niece to arrive.
The castle loomed behind, its blackened stone walls climbing high into the sky.
My hands rested in front of me as my fingers twisted the engagement and wedding rings on my finger. Clad in a deep emerald gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a bodice that was adorned with intricate filigree patterns. My hair was swept up into a braided updo, the raven strands decorated with emerald and diamond pins that sparkled even in the muted light. Around my neck, I wore a delicate necklace of emeralds and onyx stones, one of the many jewellery pieces my husband had gifted me over our years together.
Behind me, stood the queensguard, a formidable line of stern and unwavering soldiers that were sworn to protect me with their lives. Their attire gleamed a deep black despite the rain and they held their positions with disciplined precision, their eyes trained on the arrival.
Soon enough a black car approached coming to a stop a few feet from us. Out stepped Jacob who moved to the passenger's side door, swinging it open renesmee appeared.
Though she had only been alive for six years, she had grown into a teenager and the picture of her mother. Her bronze curls framed her face, which had the delicate beauty and composure of a much older girl. She wore a warm, plaid shirt over her simple yet modern outfit. A pair of denim jeans and a white graphic t-shirt, on her feet she donned a pair of worn brown boots that just so happened to be mine from my room in forks, it was a wonder there was any room for her clothes at home, I had enough as a child but what with all the outfits I buy her now... she'd be running out of space surely. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she raced over to me.
