"love you, bye!" charlie blew a kiss towards isla and waved before running out of the closed ice cream shop with a wide grin on her face, leaving isla with her parents.

charlie ran, glancing at her wrist watch that showed it was 6:50pm. "shit," she mumbled, not wanting to be late to emma's house. "come on, charlie!" she sighed and ran, getting closer to emma's neighborhood.

once she finally got there, charlie bent over slightly, resting her hands on her knees to catch her breath. charlie then noticed emma through her bedroom window. when emma noticed her standing in the front yard, her eyes quickly lit up and went to open the door as charlie sent her a smile.

with that, charlie walked up to the front door and emma immediately opened the door with a grin on her face. "did you run here?" emma let out a small laugh before pulling charlie in for a hug. "yeah, i didn't want to be late," charlie replied as they pulled away. "i'm just glad you're here," emma stated, grabbing charlie's hand softly, pulling her inside the house.

"come on, i've prepared our movie and snacks!" emma led the taller girl up to her room. "sounds great," charlie smiled at emma's excitement.

the two rested on emma's bed, leaning onto the headboard, close to each other as emma opened up her laptop, turning the movie on. "you have to watch this one," emma convinced. "i've watched it a million times," she exaggerated, making charlie chuckle.

it was romcom, which charlie always loved. she always preferred it over action movies or horror. the movie started playing and charlie could tell how excited emma was to watch it with her.

that gave charlie and idea as she pulled out her camera from her bag. pointing the camera towards emma's laptop that showed the movie playing then towards emma who turned to look at it before looking up at charlie who had a smile resting on her lips. "what?" emma chuckled lightly.

"you look really pretty," charlie replied, making emma giggle and turned back towards her laptop.

when the movie eventually ended, charlie smiled, turning to emma. "wow, i might have to watch it a million times too," she said playfully. the movie was good, charlie felt like she would watch it again. "told you it was that good," emma replied, sending charlie a proud smile.

"oh! by the way," emma quickly remembered. "i've made us a spotify playlist. you wanna see it?" she asked, excitement in her voice. charlie giggled, "sure, myers," she replied and pulled her phone out. "here, the password's my birthday," she passed it to emma. "can i go wash my hands?" she showed her left hand which was sticky due to the candies that they had as she pursed her lips.

emma let out a small laugh, "go ahead," with that, charlie got up and walked towards emma's bathroom to wash her hands.

emma took charlie's phone and turned it on, immediately greeted by charlie's wallpaper. it showed charlie's hand, holding the photo strip of them from the photo booth. emma's smile grew at the sight, remembering the day they met.

then, emma opened up charlie's spotify app before adding the playlist to her library. when she got to charlie's spotify library, she noticed a playlist that made her heart fluttered.

emma's favs :)

emma grinned, opening it only to see seventeen songs in it. "hey, you done?" charlie questioned, sitting back on the bed, next to emma. emma took the chance and teased charlie, "what's this?" emma narrowed her eyes, with a smile as she showed charlie the playlist on charlie's phone. charlie's eyes slightly widen and tried to take her phone away but emma pulled it out of her reach.

"come on, myers," charlie let out dry chuckle in embarrassment. "i knew you would like their songs," emma stated proudly.

charlie shook her head with a small smile resting on her lips before taking the phone from emma's hands. the two looked up when the sound of a car revving was heard, coming from outside. emma then glanced at the clock, 9:30pm.

"shit! it's my curfew, i can't bring anyone over after my curfew," emma slightly panicked, walking over towards her window to see her parents getting out of the car. "your curfew's at 9:30?" charlie questioned, furrowing her eyebrows before also getting up towards emma.

"yes!" emma replied. charlie sighed and thought for a bit. "i'll just climb down," she said making emma turned her head towards her. "are you crazy? you're gonna get hurt!" emma argued, whispered shouting. "do you have a better idea?" charlie said then hearing emma sigh.

"i'll be fine," charlie assured, opening up the window. "emma! are you in your room?" a deep and manly voice spoke from outside of emma's bedroom as their eyes widen. charlie quickly took the chance and went through the window, stepping onto the roof. "yeah! i'm here," emma replied to her father's voice, watching as charlie carefully steps out.

emma's bedroom door opened up and revealed her father. at the same time, charlie drops down from the rooftop, with her heavy breathing. "are you okay, honey?" jeremy spoke, watching as his daughter rested her hand onto the frame of the window before turning to him.

"hm? yeah! fine! totally!" emma smiled, giving her father an awkward thumbs up. "why's the window open?" he asked, furrowing his eyebrows. "uhm, i just, y'know, needed some fresh air," emma convinced as her father gave her a small nod. "ah, okay,"

"not too long, there's lots of mosquitoes at night," jeremy reminded. "yeah, alright. goodnight dad," emma said. "hm, goodnight sweetheart,"

with that, he closed the door and emma immediately turned to look out through the window to see charlie standing on the path way, in front of her driveway with a smile on her face. charlie gave her a wave goodbye making emma smile and shook her head at charlie's adorable behavior.
