Sab lay in bed staring at the ceiling when Seve joined her. "Not sleeping yet?"
Sab turned toward Seve who placed his arm around Sab and buried his face in her hair. "Twins...di ako makapaniwala."
A few moments later, Sab said, "Are there twins in your family?"
"Not that I know of, wala. Sa inyo?"
"Wala rin."
A few moments later, while cuddling with Sab in bed, Seve asked, "Have you thought about names?"
Sab sighed. "I've always liked unisex names."
"Unisex names?"
"Gabriel, Raphael..."
"Michealangelo...Leonardo..." Seve added.
"Sira! Wala akong planong maging mommy ng ninja turtles, ano ka ba?" Sab playfully spanked Seve's arm which was on her waist.
"How about the name, Molly?"
"Molly?"
"Cute....Molly Gabrielle..." Sab suggested.
"Nice! Eh sa boy? Diba boy yung twin? Based dun sa pink at blue confetti..."
"How about, Noah....Noah Benedict..."
"Uy! Ang ganda! At least hind na old school tulad ng pangalan ko."
"Bakit? Unique nga yung name mo e..."
"Oo, mas unique pa nga yung nickname na binigay sa akin...."
"Nickname? Diba Seve ang nickname mo?"
"Unique kaya yung 'Cellophane'. I bet, ako lang ang may nickname na ganun."
"Ahh...pero seriously, Molly Gabrielle at Noah Benedict lang ang names natin? What if more than two sila or hindi sila girl and boy?"
"Susme!" Seve suddenly clutched his chest.
"Bakit?"
"Ilang kids ang gusto mo?" Sab asked.
"Six!" Seve replied, holding up his hand.
"Six?! Ang dami naman! Di ko alam kung kaya ko yun..."
"Dalawa naman tayo mag-aalaga at magpapalaki."
"Sabagay. Pero, bakit six?"
"Five boys..."
"Limang boys! Riot!"
"...and one girl..."
"Kawawa..."
"Hindi, sya ang muse...princess..."
"Di ko ata kaya mag-alaga talaga ng anim na bata. Etong baka twins pa lang, medyo ninenyerbyos na nga ako e. Besides, di mo ba naisip na baka five or six times ka rin magkaka-couvade syndrome?"
Seve sat up and thought for a moment. "No way! Ayoko na! Hirap na hirap na nga ako ngayon e..."
Sab giggled, "And gusto mo pang magka-basketball team and princess?"
Seve hugged Sab and rested his chin on her shoulder, gently rubbing her belly. "Okay na ako with whatever ibigay sa atin."
"Hmm. Basta healthy..."
"Yes. Basta healthy." Seve agreed.
"I made an appointment for you dun sa ultrasound clinic for tomorrow ng 10am" Seve said when Sab joined him for breakfast.
"Bakit? I'm not scheduled for another ultrasound yet" Sab replied, puzzled by Seve's announcement. Ever since he found out about Sab's pregnancy, he tried to be present and involved in everything related to her pregnancy and the baby's arrival. He was already making plans for a nursery in his condo, as well as placing orders for baby things.
"Ikaw na rin nagsabi na baka sablay si Pao sa gender ng kambal or kung kambal lang ba talaga ang babies natin. I just want to be sure. Besides, sabi sa mga nabasa ko, they can do tests also to determine any possible defects and medical conditions the fetus might have."
---
"Yeah, Seve booked me for an ultrasound tomorrow to make sure our twins' genders are correct."
"Really? I'm going, too. Well, Paul had me scheduled for tomorrow at "Bump to Bundle".
"That's the same place I'm going to. My appointment is at 10am."
"Mine is at 9am"
"Great! Paul's going to be with you I suppose?"
"Yes. He insisted I have it done. 'To make sure of the babies gender!'' Sejeong added and imitated Paul's manner and tone of speaking.
"Have our boys spoken to each other about this, I wonder?" Sab said questioningly.
"...probably texted each other?"
"I wouldn't be surprised. Anyway, I have to go. See you tomorrow at the clinic. Let's have brunch after our ultrasounds."
