Chapter 1

Present day.

Sometimes, not even the people you trust are in the right mind. I've lost a lot of people in my life, even my best friend.
And to think...that I could trust the person I loved, he made me fall in love with him, just to cover his tracks. What. The. Actual. Fuck....

"Miss, are you okay...?" A police officer came up to me and asked. I looked scared, confused, and mostly felt gut-wrenching inside. I wanted to throw up, I wanted to scream, I wanted to cry, so that's what I did. I let out a wailing cry, I couldn't speak, I didn't have any words... just a wail in pain.

The officer didn't know what to do at all, but just comforted me. He wrapped his arms around me and patted my shoulder as I cried in his arms. I lifted my head up and looked in the officer's back seat window, and I saw him, looking at me in regret. Why look at me in regret after everything you did?! You're a monster!

Flashback to March 17th

I was riding in my car with my best friends, Cassie and Brooke, my best friends ever since 8th grade. We were riding to school listening to Katy Perry, Last Friday night, Brooke laughing, and Cassie singing her lungs out, "Last Friday night!" Cassie yelled in my ear, I laughed at her as she swung in the back seat.

Brooke looked at Cassie and told her, "Okay, calm down." Cassie then stopped and told Brooke,"But this is my jam!!" Brooke laughed and said, "Okay, continue." Brooke smiled as Cassie continued singing her lungs out.

We then arrived at school and walked in the halls, "Okay, I feel like today is going to be boring. Ever since we came back to school, every day has gotten boring and more boring." I told them, "absolutely it has. The only class that's good is just gym class, that's where I can see my gym crush." Cassie told us, "Who's your gym crush??" I asked her, "Mr. Clinton..." she answered me, "Cassie!" me and Brooke yelled at her, causing people to look at us weirdly, "I'm sorry, the gym teacher is hot, though." Cassie whispered. Brooke and I looked at each other and laughed.

"Okay, stop laughing, it's not that funny." Cassie said with slightly smiling. Before you could know it, we all started laughing. "Okay, let's all go to class now." I told them we all agreed and hugged each other, waving each other goodbye.
I started walking away, looking at my friends before I turned around fully.

I was walking into my class until I felt a hand turn me around, "Hey Asher!" I greeted him. "Hey Kasey, I was going to ask if you know, is Brooke okay with me talking to her now?" He asked me, looking disappointed and worried. "Look, Brooke is a little difficult in relationships. You should be okay. She would definitely take you back in. She's just going through a lot right now." I told him while patting his shoulder. Asher then smiled and told me, "Thank you, Kasey." He then hugged me and walked away. I then smiled. He and Brooke were so cute together, I wish I had something like that.

I then walked into my class and sat down in my seat. "Okay, class, turn to page 433 in your textbooks." The teacher told us, I then grabbed my textbook from under my seat and opened it up, "page 433.." I mumbled to myself as I turned the pages. I finally turned to page 433, and class shortly began.

An hour later, class ended, and it was time for lunch. My lunch started early, and so did Brooke, Cassie, and Asher's did. We would all meet up at lunch and sit together.

When I walked into the lunchroom, I heard an argument going on between 2 boys and tried not to look over there until I heard the security guards pulling them apart. Then, I started walking towards the lunch line to see Cassie and Brooke with Asher's arm over her shoulder, I smiled at the scene.

"Heyy Cass, Hey Brooke." I greeted them, Cassie greeted me back while Brooke just smiled and blushed a little bit with Asher, looking at her. Cassie and I put our hands over our mouths, giggling at them.

We then got our food and headed over to the table, "This food is always garbage, I wish we could order something." Brooke said while munching on fries. "They stale and dry, ew.." Cass said while biting into a fry and putting It back down.

I then smiled at them and just ate the food, I was hungry anyway. "Me and Brooke were thinking about going out of town once school is done." Me and Cassie looked at them and was a little surprised, Brooke has never been on a date out of town, "to where?!" Cassie asked, "Well I saved up my money and were going to the Bahamas..." He said slightly. "The Bahamas?!" Cassie and I shouted, "Oh my gosh...I'm so happy for you both!" I told them, they smiled at me and Cassie, and looked at each other. That's a relationship I'd want.

Later on, I was in my 4th class, science.
I was standing at my table when I needed to use the restroom, "Excuse me, Mrs. Patting." I called for the teacher, and she came walking up to me, "yes Kasey?" She answered," i need to use the restroom." I told her while holding my legs together, "Go ahead, " she told me, and I thanked her while rushing out of the class and went to the restroom.

When I got done with using the restroom, I stepped out of the stall and started washing my hands, "Man, that felt good." I mumbled to myself, I was on my way out the restroom until I heard something loud, like a firework, I then heard it again and immediately knew it wasn't any fireworks.

Were those gunshots...?
