Philip is historical
Prince Philip is the first Disney prince to be given an actual name.
But where he gets his name is the interesting fact.
When she was crowned in 1952, Queen Elizabeth was married to Prince Philip of Edinburgh.
The movie was in production since before then, so it was only fair that Disney named one of his characters after the queen's husband.
