IN THE GRAND LIBRARY of your family's estate, the soft rustling of pages was the only sound that filled the room. you and Sunday sat across from each other at a large, polished wooden table, the sunlight filtering through the tall windows and casting a warm glow on the rows upon rows of books surrounding you.

you had just closed the book you were reading with a pout, your lips pressed together in frustration. Sunday, who had been quietly engrossed in his own book, noticed your expression and looked up with a slight tilt of his head.

"why the long face? was the ending not to your liking?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine curiosity.

you sighed, pushing the book aside. "it's not that the ending was bad... it's just... why does every fairytale have to end with a happy ending? it's so cliché. not every story should end happily." your voice was laced with a hint of frustration, and you folded your arms across your chest.

he chuckled softly, the sound warm and familiar. "well, maybe that's because they're fairytales. they're supposed to make you believe in happy endings, no matter how impossible they seem."

you rolled your eyes, still pouting. "but that's the problem. it's always the same—happily ever after. there should be a fairytale with a sad ending, something that's more... real."

the grayish-blue-headed boy leaned back in his chair, his gaze thoughtful as he studied you. "maybe you just need to read something other than fairytales," he suggested, a playful glint in his eyes.

"there's a whole world of books out there—mysteries, adventures, even tragedies. not everything has to end on a happy note."

you frowned, considering his words, then glanced around the vast library filled with books of every genre. "maybe you're right..." you admitted, though a part of you still clung to the idea of finding a fairytale with a different kind of ending.
