Lance woke with a start, frantically sitting up, only to wince at the feeling of his still-tender stomach. He might have been in very good shape, but a blow to the gut still made an impact that was still being felt. He wasn't sure how long he'd been out, but what he was most surprised by right now was that he was even waking up at all.
He remember the sight of the giant wolf standing over him, the warmth of its breath against his skin, and, most of all, the scent of the blood of the two teens it had mercilessly and brutally killed right in front of him. Why the wolf had yet to enact the same fate upon him, he had no idea, not that he was complaining.
He looked around, finally taking stock of his surroundings. As his eyes finally adjusted to the darkness, he saw that he was in some kind of room that appeared to be part of an apartment. He realised that he was lying on a couch, and a table and TV in front of him gave away the fact that he was in a living room setup. The whole room was unfamiliar, which led to the understanding that he was in someone else's house. This did not bring him any comfort.
He suddenly noticed a pair of bright yellow eyes staring at him from a corner, and let out a yelp.
"Oh, good. You're awake."
The light turned on, momentarily blinding Lance until his eyes adjusted. When they did, he got a better look at the room and saw just how sparse it was. There were barely any personal touches at all; nothing on the table, nothing on the walls, hardly anything in the cabinet under the TV aside from a couple of game consoles and a paltry number of games. It felt less like a lived-in environment and more like a display apartment that you'd show a prospective renter.
But all of that went out the window as he saw the hulking figure of the wolf sitting in an armchair in the corner. It was almost exactly as he remembered it: massive, muscular frame; eyes that seemed to emit their own yellow gleam, and toothy maw that, at the very least, looked less threatening without blood dripping from it. It looked almost... clean. Like how a person with proper grooming habits would appear. Except that it was clearly a giant, anthropomorphic wolf.
He steeled himself and spoke. "Where am I?"
"At Shilo's place," replied the wolf in a smooth voice that was so deep that it neared the edge of human hearing capability. "You're welcome, by the way." It stood up and walked over to Lance and reached out a massive claw towards Lance's eye, to which he naturally flinched. "Relax, I'm just checking you don't have a brain injury." With a delicateness that betrayed its massive size, it held Lance's eye open and held a light to it. "You're fine. I swear, you humans are so fucking delicate."
Lance took a chance to get a better look at his lupine carer. Its massive, humanoid torso was covered in glistening fur that laid over a rippling, muscular physique. Its shoulders were so broad and well-defined that it looked like it could bench-press a car. Its legs were clearly not human, and instead closer resembled the hind legs of its wolf brethren, but were still chunky enough to support all the weight up top with energy to spare. And, given that it was currently nude by human standards, Lance could quite easily make out, under a furry sheathe between its legs, a very sizable member. Its entire anatomy seemed tailor-made to make Lance self-conscious.
It turned away, and Lance spotted one element that differed from what he'd expected: the beast had barely any tail at all, with only a tiny, furry nub protruding from above its toned buttocks. He realised, as the wolf sank back in the armchair that it probably made sitting down in human chairs a lot easier.
"This is Shilo's place? How did I get here?"
"I brought you."
"How?"
The wolf raised an eyebrow. "With my arms, dumbass. How else?"
Lance had a sudden vision of himself being carried over the threshold, bridal-style, by this hulk of a wolf. He flushed a bit at the thought before recovering. "Who... what are you?"
