The Question of the Past

The sun was beginning to rise on the horizon, casting a soft light over the peaceful village of Souz. The aroma of breakfast still hung in the air when Ethan and his grandfather, Harlan, finished their meal. Ethan, restless, couldn't shake the disturbing images of the nightmare of the night before. His thoughts were turned to the unknown past and the amulet that hung constantly around his neck.

After the meal, Ethan decided to approach his grandfather, who was busy organizing some scrolls in the house's small library. Old Harlan was deep in thought as he examined the documents, but Ethan knew it was the right time to ask the question that weighed on his heart.

"Grandfather, can I ask you something?" Ethan began, his voice heavy with hesitation.Harlan looked up, his deep, wise eyes fixed on his grandson. He smiled gently and nodded, encouraging Ethan to continue.

"Sure, Ethan. What do you want to know?

"I... I've been dreaming of strange things. And sometimes I feel like there's something I don't know about my past.

 Ethan hesitated, watching Harlan's expression.

"What can you tell me about my family and where I came from?"

Harlan sighed and stood up, walking to the window.

He looked out, contemplating the tranquil beauty of the village, before turning to Ethan with an expression of regret.

Ethan, I understand that you have questions and curiosities about your past.

The truth is that there are many things that are still unclear, even to me.

Harlan began, his voice deep and calm.

"What I can tell you is that when the right time comes, you will know the truth. There are things we can't control, and fate has its own plans for each of us.

Ethan frowned, a little disappointed by the vague answer, but he trusted his grandfather and knew he did his best to protect him.

"So, what should I do now?" Ethan asked, trying to hide his frustration.

Harlan smiled, a glint of pride in his eyes.

"Today is an important day for you. Harlan said, changing the subject.

"It's the day of your rank test in the Village Guild. It is a rite of passage for all young people on the continent.

It is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your skills and start walking your own path.

The Guild TestAfter the conversation, Ethan followed Harlan to the heart of the village of Souz, where the Village Guild was located. The Guild was a vibrant hub of activity, where young men and masters gathered to train and evaluate the skills of new initiates.

The Guild building was a sturdy building, built with local timbers and surrounded by symbols of exploration and the journeys of the warriors of the village of Souz.

As they approached, Ethan saw several other young men, some nervous, some confident, waiting to take the test.
