(Third Person)
It was cold. Extremely cold. Too cold enough for Y/N to even think properly. What did they do to deserve this? Sure they did some crimes that got them sent to the prison in the first place but this didn't warrant in this kind of punishment. Being sent on this mission that was basically a death trap. Monsters were everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE. Y/N struggled to keep quiet in the locker they were hiding in. There was this creature, it was checking the lockers for any signs of life to devour. The (h/c) adult did not want to make a sound. It would kill them if they did. Four of their teammates out of ten were already killed for being too naive and foolish and they were not being one of them.
Silence. The remaining six of the team were silent. The creature hovered around the room. No one moved a muscle. Then there was a cough. One singular cough. If only the person that coughed knew what chain of events it would set off. The creature let out a loud screech and went to one of the lockers. A young man fell out of it. He was the one who coughed. His glasses were smashed as he looked up at the creature. It opened its mouth, many little eyes were present inside of it. On every nook and cranny of its mouth had a small eye glaring at the young man. He didn't even get a chance to scream before he was devoured then and there.
Y/N held their breath. They couldn't scream or even mourn the man. They didn't know him nor did they really care. The creature finally moved onto the next room, the lights breaking as it left. It was pitch black now. Soon enough, one person got out of their locker, almost like a cue for everyone else to leave. Y/N got out of their locker and turned on their flashlight. They did a mental head count. Five of them remained in this hellhole alive.
"Should we continue then?" A woman with long blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes asked. Well it sounded more like a statement to Y/N. The woman's tone was stern and almost impatient.
Y/N and one of their other teammates nodded however, an operative with freckles was slouched over the dead body of their friend. Tears poured down their face.
"Come on Tango we need to go." The blonde crossed her arms impatiently. "We don't have any time to grief."
"He just died. Just like that.... Charlie died.... He's dead...." Tango mumbled almost incoherently. She was close to the now deceased Charlie. They had bonded down here despite it being for a short amount of time. The two were like peas in a pod only now there was only one singular pea left.
"I can't do this anymore.... I'm going back...." Tango began walking the opposite of where they were supposed to be going. The pressure was getting too much for them.
"Tango wait! Your gear!" The other operative that had been quiet now spoke up. He had a curly black Afro and the most flawless brown eyes. He was the doctor of the group. Anyone that got injured would be quickly treated by this expert. He was a kind soul so almost everyone wondered how he had ended up here.
Tango was ignoring everyone as the walked away from the remaining three operatives. A distant beeping noise could be heard before a small explosion could be heard. Tango was no more.
"Lima, Echo let's move on. She didn't want to listen to us so that's her own fault." The blonde girl beckoned to Y/N and the man as she opened the door to the next room.
Y/N followed behind her along with Lima. Their names were simply code names for the higher ups to know who they were. They had the same names for every group and Y/N was the Echo of group F. The blonde girl was Juliett. She was the leader of your group as well as a favorite of the higher ups. She was cold, commanding and quite unsympathetic which was no surprise on why she was the favorite. Lima was silent. He was the complete opposite of Juliett. He was kind, empathetic and wanted to make sure the whole group was ok. He was the doctor after all.
The three of them made their way through the rooms, no troubles had come their way so far. That was until they came to two doors. There had been previous rooms before this where some of their team had been devoured by the creature behind the fake doors or just injured severely.
"Lima, Echo go to one of the doors and check them out please."
Y/N followed Juliett's instruction and picked the door on the right while Lima hesitantly went to the door on the left. There was a silence. Y/N gripped the handle of the door tightly before swinging it open.
The monster greeted them on the other side with a grab to their leg. They fell onto the ground as they struggled to get free. A sharp pain suddenly shot up from their leg.
The monster had bitten their leg.
"ECHO!"
Lima thankfully came to the rescue and managed to pull Y/N free from its grasp. The door shut with a bang and a white face appeared on the number plate.
"Idiot how could you not tell?!"
It quickly disappeared after the berating. Y/N clutched their leg, the pain intensifying every second. Blood was spilling out of their calf like a waterfall. Juliett stood above them, extending a hand to the injured teammate.
"Do we have any more medkits Lima?"
Lima hesitantly looked at the two and rubbed his arm awkwardly. "The last one was used on Tango a while ago...."
"Shit."
Y/N took Juliett's hand, leaning on her as they stood up. Their body was shaking and their leg felt horrible right now.
"Look in the drawers of the next room. If we don't find any, we'll need to leave Echo." Juliett held Y/N up the best she could. She wasn't too pleased but she did so nonetheless.
As the three entered the next room, a soft voice suddenly called out to them.
"Hey strangers, over here."
