Kaede POV

"Wow~! We really went all out with this honey moon, huh?" I exclaimed.

"Well, we have been planning it for a while, so this is the pay off!" Tori said with joy.

The hotel room was decorated in luxerious splendor, with the main attraction being the heart-shaped bed in the middle.

"Really though, this has to be the most decadent place we've been to! We even a view of the whole city! I love all of it!" I stated.

Tori got closer to me and cupped my face.

"I love it too, but not as much as you~!" Tori purred.

"Okay, that's just cheesy!" I replied.

"Did it work though?" Tori wondered.

*Smooch*

"Yep!" I giggled.

*Sigh*

"Honestly, it's crazy that we're bounded together now. Spending time with ya is gonna feel like dancing amongst the clouds!" Tori said.

"Yeah! I guess we get to call each other cutesy nicknames, right? How about it, honey bun~?" I jested.

"Heh! I'm fine with that, cinnamon roll~!" Tori responded.

"Hey! Only one of us gets the pastry nickname! You're the honey bun!" I pouted.

"Nuh uh! I can call you whatever cute name I want!" Tori rebuttled.

*Knock*

"Ma'am? Sir? May you please quiet down?" the cleaning lady requested.

"S-Sorry! Won't happen again!" we both apologized.

We both sat there in awkward silence, until one of us broke.

"Pfft! Hahaha! Ma'am?!" Tori laughed.

"Ma'am?! I'm too young to be a ma'am!" I complained.

"Well, I guess you're now! That's the nickname, ma'am!" Tori pushed.

"S-Shut up! I'm not a ma'am!" I yelled.

"Yes, you are~! I can say as many times as I can~! Ma'am! Ma'am! Ma'am!"

...

"Ma'am!"

...

"Ma'am."

...

"Ma'am?"

"Huh?" I was taken out of my mind.

"Sorry, you looked like you were zoning out. You're name was Mori Kaede on the file, is that correct?" the officer questioned.

I shakily nod my head.

"Great. Now, there were witness reports of you entering the room where the victim fell over the balcony. Can you tell me what you were doing at that time?" the officer asked.

"I... originally shared the room with him, as a romantic gesture. But... we had a conflict that led to him to kicking me out. I came back to make amends with my husband, but... but..." I started to tear up.

The officer pulls out a handkerchief and gives it to me.

"You don't have to keep going. The cameras show that no one else was in the room but him. Unless some big piece of evidence comes out, the precinct is gonna label this a suicide." the officer explained.
