I breath in the silence
of morning light
as it touches the bluebells
the breeze cools the air
and soothes the Summer storm
raging in my heart
How ignorant we have become?
To the peace that is in front of us
yet our eyes are closed by indifference
Our soldiers fight for us,
die for us,
and no words of thanks are given
Children are kidnapped and sold as slaves
Who will fight for them?
Mothers lose their husbands, sons
Families are torn apart
For greed, corruption of minds
and all matter of sin
Still
The hummingbird zooms by from the trees
drinking nectar freely, quietly
until the bee fights too
The yellow petals of gladiolus welcome all the sky can bring
as the spearmint winds around it.
A soft breeze is paired
with a trickle of rain
There is an order in this, a rhythm
All things work to form a system
that brings life.
How simple to drink from that same nectar,
enjoy the very breeze
that cools your soul and mine
If we look to simpler examples as these
Peace can be for all
Eternity.
