Rimuru POV

After everyone went back to the ice palace, the incident with Rudra and the fact that Velgrynd will live in the ice palace for the time being was told to Rain, Misery as well as Milim and Ramiris, who were still there. To say the four were surprised would be an understatement. The fact that I was able to defeat Rudra and Velgrynd in a 2 vs 1 had their jaws practically on the floor. This reaction intensified when they learned that Ultima now serves under me and has received a name from me. For some reason Rain was looking at Ultima with a look of rivalry on his face? I don't know what that was, but Ultima seemed to react to Rain's look and returned it with a grin on her face. I could have sworn that lightning was exchanged between the two gazes.

After everything had settled down, Velgrynd and Ultima were given a room and I asked Rain to give them both a tour of the ice palace. In the following 2 weeks I continued to teach Rain new recipes. To my surprise, Ultima asked me to teach her new recipes too. If I'm being completely honest, I wouldn't have expected that Ultima never showed any interest in cooking in the other timeline. She preferred to be in Tempest prison and interrogate prisoners there.Nobody complained about it anymore because there was now more variety of food. Velzard still visited us in the kitchen to try the food that I taught the two of them, the only difference was that Velgrynd joined her, which was a somewhat unexpected development.

One day Velgrynd was wondering where the four of us were and then asked Misery and she replied that we would be in the kitchen because I was teaching Ultima and Rain how to cook and Velzard liked to try the dishes. When she heard this she made her way to the kitchen where she found us. At this time we made a kake udon noodle soup. I asked her to try the udon and since that day she has accompanied Velzard when she comes to try the dishes.

I'm currently in my space thinking about what I should do next. I've only spent the last 2 weeks in the ice palace. It was fun to do something in the kitchen with Velzard, Velgrynd, Ultima and Rain. We had a lot of conversations and I really enjoyed them, but I didn't want to just sit around the whole time. Maybe I should go to the jura forest and meet Veldora. I now have a good basis and could try to be friends with him. If I succeeded in doing that, I would have less of a problem later forming my nation in the Jura forest. It would also be possible to build a small house or something similar in the forest so that I already have accommodation there. Further on, I could meet the dryads there and if I then decided to take over the forest, they would already know me, which, if I do it well, I would already have their support. After thinking about it, I decided to go to the Jura Forest in one day. After I made my decision, I went to see everyone to tell them that I was going to the Jura Forest tomorrow. After using [magic sense] to find everyone, I went to the dining room where everyone was eating something. When they saw me, Velgrynd was the first to speak to me.

"Hey Rimuru have you decided to join us for dinner?"

"No, not really, I just wanted to tell you that I'm heading to Jura Forest tomorrow."

Then everyone had an inquiring look. This time it was Velzrad who spoke up first.

"You're aware that Velgrynd and my little brother Veldore have their home there? I don't think he'll just let an individual as strong as you run free there. Besides, what do you want in the Jura Forest anyway. There's nothing there Other than forest and a few little monster tibes. I see no reason for you to go there."

"I honestly want to meet Veldora... that's my reason."

Guy POV

My unique skill [Preemptive Headache] has activated and is currently sending me a massive headache! What the hell does Rimuru want from Veldora?

"Rimuru, what do you want from Veldora?"

"I just want to be friends with him, or at least try."

Rimuru POV

After I gave my answer to Guy's question, everyone just looked at me with a dullfounded expression. Velzrad thinks that it is extremely unlikely to be friends with Veldora because he is very childlike and immature. But I just ignored the whole thing. Velzard and Velgrynd tried to stop me but quickly realized they wouldn't be able to do it.

"If you're going to do this then at least let me come with you so I can discipline Veldora if necessary."

At Velzard's request, I was surprised, as was everyone else in the room, but before I could answer, Velgrynd, Ultima and Rain spoke up and demanded that if Velzard was allowed to come with them, then they could come too. I just looked at the four of them without knowing what I should do now. After some time to think about it, I decided to allow the four of them to accompany me if they agreed to one condition.

"All of you can come with me as far as I'm concerned, but only if you promise to leave everything to me and only do something when I ask you to. I don't want to get into unnecessary problems."

After everyone agreed, I went to the kitchen to prepare something to eat for our journey. When Ultima and Rain saw where I was going they decided to follow me and help in the kitchen. I had a good time in the kitchen with Rain and Ultima. We talked so much that we didn't even notice that we made way too much food. The next morning we all get ready to go to the Jura Forest.
