Soshiro's head slowly rose up from my neck, heavy breathing coming from his mouth. "Are... you okay?"

He asked, panting heavily as he greedily takes air into is lungs. "I'm fine, are you?" He calms down for a second before nodding, he then stood up and reached for his ear piece.

"Operation room, what's happening?" He said in a rushed and loud voice. "Several dozen kaijus have infiltrated the base! The current situation says that the kaijus are attacking from the sky."

His eyes widened at this information. "Estimated power is about 6.1" Okonogi continued.

"W-wait.. no, 6.3, 6.2, 6.5... All these kaijus are... honju class!"

"Shit." Soshiro quickly grabs my hand as we sprint towards the base, activating our shields in the process.

"This is Vice Captain Hoshina, Captain Ashiro isn't present. I'll be the one giving instructions."

"Me and Haitani are on the way to the base to give back up. All night security officers, get into comebat." We reach the entrance of the base and quickly go inside.

"Send out a dispatch to off-duty officers as well. Everyone, get ready for combat!"

"Soshiro.." he turns to look at me, slowing down. "Yeah?"

"There hasn't been any damage reports from outside, could it be..?"

His eyes widened "their target.. is the base?"

"Place the officers that are good at shooting in the center, let's lure them and shoot them down!"

"Roger!" Everyone runs out to get into position, Soshiro assigns me to stay with him.

"Vice Captain!" Soshiro heard through the ear piece. "Kafka? are you safe?" Soshiro responds. "Something brothers me about these kaiju."

"These wyvern type kaijus don't usually group up like this.. they work on their own. But these guys.... "

Soshiro sighs "yeah, that only means one thing.."

I suddenly lift my gun up and point at the upcoming creature "there's something strong enough to lead these kaijus"

"Target, found." The kaiju speaks in a robotic like voice, similar to kaiju no.9

My eyes widened, "it can talk..?"

"I'm hanging up, Kafka." I grip my gun tighter, the kaiju slowly approaching us.

"Are you the strongest one in this base?" the kaiju lifts it's hand up, pointing at Soshiro.

"Well, captain's not here. I guess that would be me" he says with a smile, his personality still glimmering

"But I'm not the only strong one" he points to me, "she is too."

"Eh..? Is he trying to get me killed?"

"It's decided, then. Both of you will be my prey." Okonogi speaks through the ear piece, "the kaiju's an 8.3, it's a daikaiju class!"

"What..?" Soshiro reaches for his ear piece, "Ikaragu, are you ther-" .

Soshiro suddenly jumps towards me, hugging me tightly as he uses his body to protect me from the kaiju's attack.

"Huh? You protected her? You've passed" the monster quickly makes it's way towards us, attempting to throw a punch but we both quickly move away. 

"Alright, now the annihilation has officially begun."

The kaiju swiftly moves, attacking Soshiro once again. "Shit, he's crazy strong"

Soshiro quickly takes his knives out, spinning gracefully as he moves away from the kaiju.

"Huh, you're not the only one with a cool weapon, Shiro."

FLASHBACK

"What did you need me here for, Captain?" I say, saluting to her. "Soshiro's here too, follow me"

"A custom weapon... for me?" My eyes widened in shock as I stare at the scythe laying inside the weapon case. "It's beautiful,,,"

"Aren't these only for captains?" She nods "Usually, yes, But we've decided to add you to our main force,"

"You're powerful, Haitani. With the amount of kaijus abnormally growing, we need to use your strength the best we can."

Soshiro shoots me a smile, this didn't go unnoticed by Captain Ashiro. "Did I tell you that the Vice Captain suggested this?"

"What? Really?" My eyes lit up, excitement clear in my voice. "Mhm, it wasn't a bad idea, I know you'd appreciate something like this."

I look at Soshiro, he suddenly covers his face as his cheeks turn into a light pink.

"Now, accepting this weapon will mean that you will act as third major force in line, behind me and Vice Captain Hoshina, will you accept?"

END OF FLASHBACK

I take the stick attached to my suit, pressing a button on it as it turns into a double headed scythe, I wield it around as I get ready to use it.

"3.." I grip my scythe tightly, getting into stance.

"2.." I look at the kaiju, estimating what my attack will be

"1.." I smirk as I stare at the kaiju, it's not getting out of this one.

"go..!"  Soshiro and I jump onto the kaiju, exchanging and dodging attacks as we use our techniques.

But unfortunately, we need to try harder.

We both jump off of the kaiju and onto the ground "his exterior's way too hard, we need a better strategy."

"Shiro!" I call out, he was on the other side of the kaiju. "Yeah?"

"Let me try something, I have a plan" he looks at me with a smirk "go ahead, I trust you!"

I run towards a building slightly further than me to get momentum, quickly jumping off of it's walls to get high into the air. I wield my scythe, spinning it as I activate one of it's techniques.

Pressing another one of it's buttons, the scythe glows a beautiful blue as it's power activates.

"Crystalized Scythe Technique, Number 3 – Shooting Star!"
