1.7 She's a Fighter

"This weekend we were in Providence, Rhode Island, an hour outside of Boston. Some of the most prestigious dance studios in the country were there- tough schools, tough competitors. And you really held your own. You won that victory cup. You killed it. I'm very proud." Abby begins and all the girls and moms clap. She goes on to praise the girls, and insult the moms

"Now, let's talk about this week's competition. We are going to what?" Abby asks as she turns the board around

"Starpower!" The girls read. Cassie then averts her attention to the pyramid, smiling at where she's placed

"It's at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, and it's a resort. It's all self contained. We can't forget anything. So we will have a wardrobe for each day that they are going to be there, just like the old school days. Yes? And you will pack here, in front of me, so that I know you have everything." Abby explains and Cassie eagerly nods, not being able to wait to go to Mohegan Sun

"Let's talk about the board. First of all, everybody worked together as a team. That teamwork is going to help you at Nationals. That's what's going to put you over the top- teamwork and technique. Those are the two things that we're going to concentrate on this week." Abby tells them

"Moms, we're doing another new number!" Abby exclaims and the girls cheer as the moms groan before clapping as well. "One more costume!"

"This week, I'm going to ask you to work harder than you've ever worked before. We need to show up and walk in there like we own the place. And I will give you a packing list for clothes for the trip, and I want them dressed a certain way every single day that we are there. Does everyone understand that. Yes?" Abby tells them and Cassie nods

"Moms, thank you very much. Ladies, let's get up. Let's go" Abby dismisses

Abby then brings out the ballet bar so the girls to practice some ballet moves. Kenzie and Vivi stayed in the side bars though

- Four Days To Competition -

Today, Abby started with Cassie's solo.

"So, babydoll, I have a special surprise for you and for your mom with your solo. Can you go get her for me?" Abby asks and Cassie nods

"Mama, Abby wants you to come into studio A with me for my solo" Cassie gets her mom from the front desk. Stephanie gets up and follows Cassie into studio A

"So, ladies, I want you to listen to the song please" Abby tells the two and she plays the music

It's amazing grace, but it's being sung by Stephanie's sister/Cassie's aunt, who died in a car crash 5 years ago. Cassie and Mandy are very close, considering the fact that Mandy didn't have any kids or a husband, Cassie was very much like a daughter to her

Stephanie started tearing up, but Cassie didn't understand why

"Do you know who's singing that?" Stephanie asks her daughter who shakes her head. "Aunt Mandy"

"It is?" Cassie asks and both Steph and Abby nod their heads

"Do you like it?" Abby asks the two

"I love it. Thank you so much" Stephanie hugs Abby. She then leaves to go back to the front desk, tears still in her eyes

"Okay, babe. You okay?" Abby asks when she notices Cassie crying. Cassie just nods her head as Abby hugs her. "You need to take all this emotion, and put it into your solo. Make it the most fabulous solo you've ever done. Okay? Let's start"
