Act 1~Chapter 1: Arrival of the VKsIt had been a week since Ben had told Riley about his proclamation. He had told his parents the same day, and despite the fact that they were quite skeptical at first, they reluctantly agreed.
Today was the day that the four VKs would arrive to Auradon. Ben specifically asked if Riley would join him in welcoming them, which she happily agreed to. That morning she threw on a white dress with a light purple cardigan tied up at the front matched with her regular white platform converse. She curled her hair, and waved goodbye to Jane. She then ran down to the main entrance of the school.
The first thing she spotted was the band. They were stood in a group, practicing the song that they would be using to greet the new students. She then spotted another crowd of people, holding banners and talking amongst one another. Finally she spotted Ben, who was talking to Fairy Godmother and his (rather obnoxious) girlfriend Audrey, daughter of Sleeping Beauty. Riley walked over to the three, joining the conversation until they all saw the black limo turning around the corner.
The band began to play the song and the other crowd began waving to the new students. The three other royals along with Fairy Godmother were stood behind the band. The driver got out of the front seat and opened the door. Two of the VKs fell out of the car, fighting over a scarf and rolling around on the floor, one boy with short white hair and another boy with long brown hair and a beanie. Two girls (one with blue hair and the other with purple) then followed them out, significantly more calm than the two boys. Once the band saw the scene, they stopped playing their instruments, looking at one another.
"You got everything else, why do you want whatever this is?" The white haired boy yelled, continuing to pull on the scarf.
"'Cause you want it!" the brown haired boy groaned, also trying to pull the scarf back. The two boys continued to fight when the band parted to reveal Fairy Godmother, Ben, Riley and Audrey.
"We have an audience," the purple haired girl said, putting her hands on her hips.
"Just cleaning up," the brown haired boy chuckled, stopping his fight with the other boy, "Get up." The brunette helped his friend off of the floor. When the white haired boy stood up, Riley saw that he had melted chocolate all over his face and some over his hands and red gloves.
"Leave it like you found it," Fairy Godmother sang, "and by that I mean just leave it." The brown haired boy let out a slight sigh and threw all of the electronics that he had in his hands back into the limo, then he grabbed the scarf and threw that in also. He then turned around, spotting Audrey.
"Hello, foxy," he said, walking over to her, "The names Jay." Audrey rather uncomfortably looked between Ben and Riley, letting out an awkward laugh before Fairy Godmother stepped in.
"Welcome to Auradon Prep. I'm Fairy Godmother. Headmistress," she said, doing a slight curtsey when introducing herself.
"The Fairy Godmother?" the purple haired girl chimed in, suddenly gaining interest, "As in Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo?"
"Bibbidi-Bobbidy you know it," she smiled, looking at the purple haired girl.
"Yeah, I always wondered what it felt like for Cinderella," the girl began, " when you just appeared out of nowhere, with that sparkly wand and warm smile. And that sparkly wand."
That last sentence made Riley furrow her eyebrows in confusion, but then shook it off not wanting to think the worst. They were here to be better people, she shouldn't judge.
"That was a long time ago," the older woman said, "And as I always say, "Don't focus on the past or you'll miss the future!"" Fairy Godmother waved her hands in front of her face, chuckling slightly.
"It's so good to finally meet you all," Ben spoke up, stepping forwards, "I'm Ben."
"Prince Benjamin," Audrey interrupted, "Soon to be king."
"You had me at prince," the blue haired girl said, walking over to Ben, "My mom's a queen. Which makes me a princess." The girl did a slight curtsey, wanting to make a good impression to the prince.
"The Royal Queen has no royal status here and neither do you," Audrey told her, slightly passive aggressively. This comment made the blue haired girls face drop.
"Actually Audrey, her mom never divorced Snow White's dad, so technically she is a princess," Riley commented, smiling at the blue haired girl, getting a smile back.
"This is Audrey," Ben introduced.
"Princess Audrey. His girlfriend. Right Benny Boo?" Audrey interrupted, grabbing Ben's hand.
"Oh and this is Riley. My royal advisor," Ben said, letting go of Audrey's hand, pointing to his friend, before his hand was grabbed by Audrey again. Riley waved to the four, getting a slight wave back from the white haired boy.
"Ben and Audrey are going to show you all around, and I'll see you tomorrow," Fairy Godmother told them, putting her hands on top of Ben and Audrey's, "The doors of wisdom are never shut!" she separated the couples hands, slightly scaring the VKs, "But the library hours are from 8:00 to 11:00. And as you may have heard, I have a little thing about curfews."
Fairy Godmother walked away, leading the band and the other crowd away also. Ben, Audrey and Riley filled up the gap that the principal was previously in and look towards the four new students.
"It is so, so, so good to finally meet-" Ben said, walking up to the brown haired boy, who Riley had learnt to be called Jay, and was fist bumped in the chest when he got to him, "-you all."
Ben the moved over to the purple haired girl, shaking her hand. Although, despite the fact that his girlfriend was right behind him, the two held eye contact and hands for a lot longer than they should have, making Riley cough to regain Ben's attention, making him let go of her hand.
"This is a momentous occasion, and one that I hope will go down in history..." Ben shook the white haired boy hand, getting some chocolate on his hands, licking it off, "Is that chocolate?" The white haired boy put his thumb in his mouth, trying to remove the chocolate from his hands, "... as the day our two people began to heal." Ben continued his speech.
"Or the day that you showed four peoples where the bathrooms are," the purple haired girl joked.
"A little bit over the top?" Ben asked looking at the girl that previously spoke.
"A little more than a little bit," the girl replied.
"Trust me, he's always over the top," Riley told her, nudging her best friend.
