Hetal was planning the karva chauth festival along with Dolly and Natasha, while the men were lounging in the sitting area.
"Hetal Bhabi, what do you do for Karva Chauth. I only remember the ones that we had at home when Ma, Bade Ma and Chachi did the Karva Chauth. I remember Papa always stayed home with Ma, along with Chachu and Bade Papa. Daama would wake the ladies early, Kaki and Daama would make food for the evening. There was Pooja in the evening, then Mumma and Papa would feed each other at the same time." said Natasha remembering her family.
"Did you not go to your extended family events for Karva Chauth?" asked Dolly
"No. Nanu was very orthodox so we would didn't go there. And afterwards, it was just Daama and I." said Natasha
"Hetal, what are you planning?" asked Amrish
"Just figuring out Karva Chauth. As it will be Dolly's and Natasha's first Karva Chauth, I want it to be special." said Hetal
"Bhabi, I don't want Natasha to fast for Karva Chauth." interrupted Dhawal
"But why?" asked Natasha confused at his refusal. "Why wouldn't you want me to fast for your long life?"
"Natasha, you're taking this the wrong way. The reason I don't want you to fast is your kidney. You shouldn't get dehydrated. You need to be drinking water throughout the day." said Dhawal
"Dhawal! Don't bring my kidney into this. I am healthy!" argued Natasha.
Dhawal rubbed his eyes, and looked at his brothers who were laughing at his predictament. "You two are enjoying this too much"
"That is true. I am loving this predictament of yours. Your wife is as stubborn as you are." laughed Chirag.
"Dhawal, it's only one day. I am going to fast. And you are not going to interfere." ordered Natasha.
"But Natasha-" argued Dhawal
"Not one word otherwise, I will go stay with Daama. You will let me do this. I want to do this." said Natasha.
'Fine! Do whatever! You're not going to listen to me are you?" yelled Dhawal as he stalked off towards their room.
Natasha shook her head, and said, "Don't worry. I will check on him" as she followed him.
Dhawal was pacing in their room, grabbing the pillows off the bed and throwing them around. Natasha stood in front of him, and he ignored her, and moved around her. After he around a few times, Natasha got annoyed and pushed him onto the bed, and followed him onto it. She sat on his stomach and held his wrists above his head.
"What do you think you're doing, Natasha? I am angry at you?" said Dhawal.
"I want to talk to you. I need you to listen to me without anger. Please." Natasha
"Natasha, get off me. I don't want to talk." said Dhawal
"But I want to. Please." Natasha begged.
"Fine. Get off me." said Dhawal holding her waist.
"Nope. I like where I am. We are going to talk and you are going to listen."
"Fine. Talk." ordered Dhawal
"I promise I will take it easy. If I find that I am getting unwell, I promise I will drink water. I want to do it. For you. For your health and long life. Please.
"Natasha, you need to be careful. I need you. I can't take a chance with your health. I won't! You can get angry with me. Yell at me. I don't care. I won't compromise with your health." stated Dhawal tightening his fingers around her waist.
"And I need all the help I can get for you. You were just in an accident. And if I need to fast for a day, I will. I love you. And I will do anything to keep you safe. Now stop fighting me on this. Please." said Natasha lowering her head onto his shoulder. Dhawal gave up and hugged her tightly.
"Fine. You win. But I am staying home to keep an eye on you. That's my condition. Take it or no fasting." bargained Dhawal.
"Fine. I will take it. Now please, lets go down. Everyone may be wondering about us." said Natasha
"Nope. We are going to stay here. I'm comfortable now." said Dhawal smiling.
"Dhawal, get up!" Nastasha said as she pinched him, making him yelp.
"Fine, fine. I'm getting up." said Dhawal but quickly turned the tables and switched places with Natasha, and now Natasha was laying underneath Dhawal.
"Dhawal, what are you doing? We need to go downstairs." said Natasha
"Not yet. You are not going to get your way all the time. You need to listen to me at times too. I'm your husband, trust in me." said Dhawal
"I do trust you. I want to do this. Please. I don't want to go against you. I promise I will be careful. And you will be home to watch over me. Nothing will happen to me. I promise." said Natasha.
Finally, Dhawal seemed to be convinced.
"Okay. But the moment you feel sick, your fast is over." said Dhawal.
"Thank you. thank you. thank you." Natasha kissed Dhawal, thanking him. Dhawal smiled and kissed her again.
"Ok. Let's go down. The family may be wondering." said Dhawal getting off the bed, and pulling Natasha to her feet.
The next few days were busy for the household as they were getting ready for the festival.
The morning of the festival, Natasha woke up earlier along with the ladies to eat before they were to start their fast, and to her surprise, Amrish Bhai, Chirag Bhai and Dhawal also woke up at the same time to keep them company. Natasha was impressed with Dhawal and his brothers. They were so caring and supportive. She was lucky that she got married to Dhawal. What Natasha didn't realize was that Dhawal and his brothers also were fasting for the wives' health and long life.
Natasha and Dhawal went back to bed after eating, as they were going to take it easy. Natasha was excited for first karva chauth, she was lying on Dhawal was talking non stop. Dhawal was smiling at her talks, while he quietly massaged her head, and slowly Natasha fell asleep while talking making Dhawal smile, slowly he fell asleep also.
Later that morning, Natasha got ready and try to make lunch for Dhawal, as he wasn't going to the office, but he wasn't hungry making the excuse of eating earlier in the morning with Natasha that he wasn't hungry. Dhawal spent the morning teasing his Bhabis' and Natasha. Amrish and Chirag had a quick meeting at the office, but came back home to spend time with the family. Natasha was loving the whole atmosphere, her new family along with Daama made her day special.
Natasha was waiting for the moon to show, so they could do the puja and then eat. While she was impatient, she thought to quickly go to the mandir room and thank god for giving her such a wonderful family.
Dhawal thought she was feeling unwell so he followed her.
"Natasha, are you ok?" as he walked into the room.
"Dhawal, I am fine. I thought to talk to my parents while we waited. Come here." Natasha said, as she pulled him to her side.
"Mumma, Papa. Today is my first Karva Chauth. And I want to thank you for sending Dhawal and his family, now my family to me. Mumma. Papa. I never thought I could be this happy. Thank you for Dhawal." said Natasha holding Dhawal's arm.
"I promise to keep your daughter happy. Keep her safe." Dhawal promised the idol.
Dhawal turned Natasha towards him, and held her face in her hands and promised. "Natasha, I promise we will always be this happy."
"I know. I also, know that you have also been fasting for me. I didn't catch on earlier, but I realized a little late. You, Amrish Bhai and Chirag Bhai. Do you know how lucky we are." said Natasha
"I agree. We are lucky. I am happy that you married me. You are my life. My happiness." said Dhawal.
"Oye, lovebirds. The moon is out. Everyone is asking about you two. Let's go, the puja is about to start." said Dolly from the doorway.
Dhawal and Natasha pulled away from each other in shock.
"Bhabi, we are coming." said Dhawal grabbing Natasha's hand, pulling her along with him.
Later that evening, everyone was lounging in the sitting room where Dolly was teasing Dhawal and Natasha about their secret meeting in the mandir.
"Bhabi, it wasn't a secret meeting. I had gone to the mandir room to talk to my parents. I wanted to thank them for guiding me and bringing Dhawal and this family to my life." said Natasha
"Bhabi, I was worried that she was getting sick, so I followed her to the mandir room. No secret meeting. I promise." Dhawal explained.
Amrish heard both Dhawal and Natasha's explaination and was happy that Natasha finally full heartly has accepted their family.
