I woke up in the morning to some soft knocks on the door. "Chan, what do you want?" I said. I heard soft chuckles and footsteps approaching. "Wake up, Kitty Cat. We're going to be late for school," he said while patting my head. Why would Chan call me Kitty— I opened my eyes and got up so fast after realizing who it was. Mingyu was standing there and laughing. "I didn't know you were this cute when you wake up," he said, still laughing. "Go and get ready; I'll prepare something for breakfast." He left the room, and I got up to get ready.
After finishing my morning routine, I went to the kitchen, and there he was. To be honest, it wasn't a bad view to wake up to in the morning. What the hell was wrong with me today? "You woke me up really early. There are still 15 minutes until my alarm goes off," I said, annoyed. "We have to stop at my house. I need to change my clothes. I can't go to school in the same clothes two days in a row. People might think I'm unhygienic," he responded. I realized he was wearing the same clothes from yesterday. He had a good point—he couldn't go to school in the same clothes from yesterday, but he couldn't wear Chan's clothes either.
We ate breakfast and then got up to leave. I realized his house wasn't far from mine. When we arrived at his doorstep, I stopped. "I'll wait for you here," I said. He smiled and grabbed my hand, dragging me inside. "Come on in; no one is here. I live alone. I need your opinion on what to wear," he said. I was taken aback. Since when did he care about my opinion?
His house was so tidy; it was hard to believe only a young man lived there alone. He didn't let go of my hand, and it was a little awkward. When we reached his room, he stopped in front of the closet. He looked at me and then started looking for something in there. He picked a few pieces and showed them to me. "What do you think?" he asked. I took a closer look at his clothes and then realized, "Are you trying to match with me?" I said, surprised. He just nodded and walked away to the bathroom to get changed. "Pick out some jewellery for me, please," I heard him say from inside. I looked around his room and found his jewellery box. I picked out a few pieces that I thought might suit him. When he came out, I handed them to him.
We left for school together. He was standing so close to me, and my mind couldn't think straight. What was wrong with me today? When we reached the school gate, we saw Jungkook and Jaehyun laughing with each other. When they saw us, their expressions changed, especially Jaehyun's. He didn't look too happy to see us together. We greeted them, and all together went to class. Jaehyun was in another class, so Mingyu, Jungkook, and I went together. It was really awkward to walk with these two. "How come you two came to school together?" Jungkook asked. "I spent the night at her house," Mingyu said. "It's not like that," I said, panicking. Jungkook's face was in shock.
The first class was Chemistry. We had to work in groups of four. "Guys, let's work together," said Lisa to Mingyu and Jungkook, and they agreed. We had to do small experiments with different elements. Mingyu assisted me the whole time. Jungkook kept giving us weird looks, which made me feel so uncomfortable. "We need to talk after class," he said to Mingyu, who just nodded.
After class ended, I needed some time alone to think about these weird emotions I was feeling. Mingyu and Jungkook went to have their 'talk,' and Lisa was hanging out with Bambam. I went to the music room because, during lunch, it was the quietest place. When I entered the room, I heard a few sounds and thought someone was in there, so I decided to leave. Just as I was about to leave, I heard someone singing:
"Dandelion in the sky,
Hard to see when the sun is in my eyes.
Call it blind,
How'd you end up all alone on the road?
We'll be great either way,
I whisper, and in that moment, oh
