Axel's POV

A knock came on my door early the next morning and I groaned at the sound. Weylyn barely even moved as he shoved his head farther into the pillow behind me.

"Weylyn, tell them to fuck off," I groaned as I hit his shoulder lightly.

"You do it," he whined as another knock rang out. I huffed but didn't bother saying anything else as the door slowly swung open.

"You guys are still asleep," Liam asked as he leaned against the door frame.

"What gave it away," I scoffed, noticing that I was barely even lying on the bed anymore. Weylyn was starting to pick up his hogging-the-bed habit again. I attempted to shove him farther against the wall but he didn't budge so I gave up. "What time is it?"

"A little after 10. We were hoping to get a jump on the day and lay out a game plan at breakfast."

"You mean we're actually doing this?"

"Why wouldn't we? We said we were going to have a day out every month," Liam asked with a small tilt of his head, looking like a confused dog. "Do you not want to do it? We don't have to if it's going to make you uncomfortable." At that, Weylyn's head shot up.

"I want to go," he said as he lifted his head to stare at Liam. His eyes were wide and almost frantic as he stumbled out of the bed. "I want to go," he repeated, "Don't leave without me, I'm just going to take a quick shower."

"No one is going to leave without anyone," Liam started but was completely ignored as Wey rushed out of the small opening between Liam and the door. "Take your time!"

"It's a lost cause," I sighed as I forced myself off the bed. "He's going to be rushing for the rest of the morning." Liam hummed as I moved around the room to get my own clothes for the day. "What exactly am I getting dressed for?"

"Just something casual," Liam said with a shrug. "We wanted to tell you the surprise at the same time during breakfast." I hummed as I looked through the closet and picked out the first outfit I could mentally put together.

"Come down whenever you're ready," Liam said quickly as he turned around while I pulled my shirt over my head and pulled the new one on.

Weylyn somehow managed to beat me down to the table. His eyes were wide with excitement as he sat there, all but vibrating in the chair. His hair was still wet from the shower and it looked like he still had a bit of shampoo clinging to his scalp that I would have to remind him to wash out later.

"Where are we going," Wey asked the second I sat down beside him. Callum smiled from across the table.

"Someone's excited," Callum teased but his smile was almost as wide as Weylyn's. "I hope you aren't expecting anything big. We're just going to go bowling and have dinner later, probably sneak some ice cream in there later. We don't really go out these days without also getting ice cream or coffee."

"That's perfect," Weylyn said as he played with his breakfast. Ryder frowned at the motion, probably thinking Wey was disappointed but I knew he was just too excited to eat.

Family day was his favorite day of the week when we used to do them. He always loved being together and having a big family made it hard for all of us to be together but it was still nice back when we did. Weylyn looked forward to it every week and when we stopped doing them, it almost broke him. Well, that along with what Rowan was doing before I found out about it.

I wasn't looking forward to the day that these family days stopped too. Weylyn has missed Callum since the day he left and even now that we are living in the same house, it is hard to find time to actually hang out together. Callum was at work until late and we were almost always doing homework; getting to hang out was a rare occasion. Now that we were starting to do it again, Weylyn would start looking forward to them. The second they decided they couldn't afford it or didn't have time anymore, Wey was going to crumble. I wasn't looking forward to cleaning up the mess they would leave behind but I had done it before and I could do it again.

Breakfast was done mostly in silence but the excited look in my brothers' eyes didn't dim. Carter looked rather relaxed as he slowly sipped his coffee out of a cup that looked like it had seen better days. Liam played on his phone as he waited for Callum to finish his breakfast and Ryder appeared to still be upstairs getting ready.

"So how does bowling work," I asked mostly to fill the silence in the air.
