I got to the eye doctor's office in no time. I parked my car across the street, right next to Monica's purple car.
Once I got to the door, I did just as I was told, holding my wrist out so my bracelet could touch the door. Two, maybe three seconds passed when I began to be dragged down, I landed on the floor at the end of the hallway.
Everything looked the same except the doors of the rooms. They were once white but now they were purple, neutral...mutual ground.
I walked down the hall passing the rooms until I got to Monica's room. I put my hand up to the door, ready to knock when a voice from behind me spoke.
"Look who's come crawling back on her knees."
Even before turning around, I knew who that voice belonged to, "I don't crawl, much less get on my knees, I'm not you Fabiola."
"Yup, she's back," Monica said, coming out of her room, "The Red Houses Wild Card."
"I thought I was the Golden Ticket," I said looking at Monica.
"You were every title there was to offer, it's why your sisters hated you so much," she said to me.
"Don't you two make a great pair," Fabolia said, rolling her eyes.
"We do," I said, grabbing Monica's arm and heading into her room.
"Good luck Emerald, let's hope you don't share the same faith as you did in your first life," I heard Fabolia say as I was about to go into Monica's room.
"You should take your advice, Fabolia. I wasn't the only one to share a bad end."
"And whose fault is that homewrecker," she said glaring at me.
I smiled, "Can you call me that when he was never really yours to begin with? And even now, when you pretend to be me, you still want to call me a homewrecker? "
"Go to hell, Emerald."
"I don't plan on it. You should refocus the obsession you have with me on finding the Blessings." "Oh, don't worry about that, I leave tomorrow morning for France," she said with a smirk.
I tried to hide my expression, had everyone heard about me traveling to France?
"And why the vacation?"I asked.
"Nice try lying Emerald but Sa already told all of us where you are traveling."
I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh, "I'm going to France because of a school trip, that's all."
"Right of course," she said with an evil expression.
"Have fun on your vacation then," I said as I went into Monica's room and shut the door.
"So, what's the plan?" Monica said as she sat on her bed.
"First, murder her," I said pointing at the door.
"I'm so glad you're back," Monica said smiling, "I'll burn her and you hide the body. What do you think?"
"Fine by me, but first we need to break our curse."
"That's fair, so...is there a Blessing in France?"
"Wait," I said, tapping at my ear.
Monica nodded and walked over to the door, placing her hand on the doorknob. She stood there for a few seconds and then turned back to me.
"All secure," she said, smiling at me.
The rooms were secure and safe from the outside, seeing as they were underground. But if one wanted to make them even more secure, that was definitely possible. The automated voice could close the room to anyone on the other side, it could also make sure that no one heard anything from the inside.
