As Mahi is getting discharged from the hospital, Rahul sends a quick text to the captain informing him that his wicketkeeper was going to be spending the rest of the day at home.

Luckily Yuvi replies back almost immediately telling them to enjoy family time because the team had been planning to randomly show up without any warnings at their house soon.

Vijeta was quite surprised to see her oldest son enter with her husband and the younger ones almost immediately ran up to hug their big brother.

From the look on her husband's face, she felt a sense of dread building in her chest because Rahul appeared to be distressed.

It might not be obvious to everyone, but the slight change in mannerisms made it known to Vijeta that something related to their oldest son was bothering her husband.

Since it was so close to dinner time, she decided to let the man go for now and confront him after getting the boys settled in their rooms after the meal.

Samit and Anvay whined about how their mother had been missing their Bhaiya so much that she had been making some of his favourite food a little too often.

Mahi hugs her and says, "I love you Amma"

Vijeta kisses her baby boy on the cheek and replies, "I love you too Bachha. Now take a seat and everyone better finish their food quickly."

Rahul could feel his eyes start to tear up as he saw the mother-son duo showing affection like they normally did.

He hated how something completely out of their control was threatening their happiness and could lead to a potential heartbreak for them all.

As much as he wanted to protect his family, Rahul realised that there was nothing he could do except maybe pray for his family's well-being.

After having dinner, Rahul almost immediately retired to his bedroom while Vijeta tucked all her boys in bed before joining her husband.

She found her husband sitting in their balcony, looking so lost in his own thoughts that he didn't quite register her entering and taking a seat beside him.

They sit together silently for a few moments before Vijeta asks, "Rahul, what's going on with you?"

Rahul takes a deep breath and replies, "The team physio called me today when I was meeting everyone. Just got a lot on my mind related to that."

Vijeta turns to face her husband and asks, "Why would the physio call you?"

Rahul replies, "He wanted to talk about Mahi. I'll explain everything, but I need you to just let me talk now. Is that okay?"

Vijeta looks a little confused, but she nods in agreement, so her husband continues, "Mahi's reports were showing some kind of abnormality in his heartbeats. He needed to get more tests done to figure out exactly what's wrong. Our idiot son was being stubborn because he didn't want to get tested until after the World Cup, so the physio called me. I only just barely managed to convince him to get the tests done with me, but I also had to promise that I wouldn't stop him from playing. So, we went to the hospital after getting an appointment and there the doctor told me that Mahi has a hole in his heart. He needs surgery but we can't do it for about two months because of the World Cup. I got a list of instructions from the doctor to take care of him along with some medication to help out for the time being. The doctor said that they caught it early so Mahi has a higher chance of making a full recovery."
