That's all it takes to make the determination appear in those blue eyes and the next thing I knew, he became completely loose.
He was all over me, smiling, clinging and even hugging me. I, of course, didn't let the opportunity slide to include some lifting in the photos. I lift and kiss him while he's up which thankfully he didn't argue. Perhaps because it was only a kiss on the cheek that he allowed it and I wouldn't dare to try anything further - not trying to test his limit.
"That's more I like it. I hope you like the pictures." The lady grinned as she returned the phone to me once I put Cody down. "I'm no professional but I'm pretty confident you'll like it."
She gave me that meaningful glance and I just smiled. There's no way I'm going to be disappointed with the results after that glance.
"Thank you, ma'am. We really appreciate it."
"Don't mention it." She chuckled. "By the way, I'm no one but you really need to sort things out between you." She holds Cody's hands. "Dear, don't think too much about it. I've seen people in love and I know the look people have when they're in love. This young man looked like one."
She patted the boy's hand. "Youngsters nowadays hardly do romance. They date but only last a short period. Good people somehow find the worst to date and these people end up getting hurt. The tale goes on but the scar remains and they no longer feel happy to be in love again when love was supposed to be a beautiful thing to happen."
"In this generation, I could say you're lucky to have someone as smitten as him to like you. It doesn't matter how your story begins, but see how it proceeds."
She took a glance at her husband who was already by her side, smiling as he nodded, "Same sex relationships can be very stressful but if it makes you happy, then why not?"
"Love itself is a struggle. We've been married for 43 years and I must admit we have had a lot of things happen in the past that make us want to give up on each other but here we are, 43 years later." said her husband.
"If you feel like you don't get the spark anymore, just go on vacation. We travel once in awhile like right now to reignite our passion." He put his arm on his wife's shoulder, staring dearly at her. "You'll find out it's not that you don't love your partner anymore. You just need to be reminded of the reasons you stayed together. Isn't it right, honey?"
"That's true." She caressed Cody's hand, "You're adorable and this man," looking at me, "Is charming. You two are a match made in heaven. It would be a waste to let go if the problem is just lack of communication."
The lady let go of Cody's hand then turned to cling on her husband's arm instead. "I think we've disturbed you enough this evening. Pardon us if we make you uncomfortable again with our babbles."
"It's totally fine, ma'am. As I said, I really needed those words."
Oh? I definitely do not expect that. I didn't speak my mind out, right?
But I guess he noticed my reaction from the way his eyebrows twitched as I turned to him.
The couple chuckled, "Well then, we're off now. Have a great evening, darlings."
Before they go, the lady says, "Nice bracelet, by the way." Then they fled after dropping a quick bombshell.
That lady must be a fun person when she's young. I'm grateful for their help.
"You good, Cody?"
His face was red when I turned to him and once he saw me, he cleared his throat. "Yes."
I decided to tease him since he's 'fine'. "You needed that word, huh?" I nudged him. "So what's your verdict?"
"S-Shut up, Derek."
I chuckled. "I swear you're the cutest thing in the whole wide world."
"Of course. How can you see me any other way aside from being cute and plump when you always force me to act that way?" He pulled down my coat that he's wearing to his elbow, showing his overalls. "Look, since I dressed and got treated like a baby wannabe just now, even that lady called me adorable. I just hope they don't have the wrong idea of you dating a minor. That would be awful."
"Then be my baby."
"H-Huh?"
"Be my baby then, since you dressed like one and got treated like one." I move closer to him, if possible. "Then you'll be a real baby instead of a baby wannabe." I tucked his hair behind his ear. "My baby, of course."
He faked a yawn, "Oh, look at the time. It's late. Let's go back." Then run to the car.
Cody was silent the whole ride, all the way to our hotel. He seemed to be in deep thought and I didn't dare to disturb him.
Once we're in our room, I let him shower first, in case he fell asleep while waiting and he took half an hour to finish. Most likely caught up in his mind while in the shower too.
I only took less than ten minutes to wash up before stepping out with a towel around my waist and a smaller towel draped on my head.
I was expecting Cody to be asleep since he seemed to be quiet when I went in the shower until I finished just now.
I went to the bed, checking to confirm my guess but when I uncovered the duvet, there's no one there. I'm pretty sure he's already laying on the bed before I went in.
"Cody?" I walked out to the living area and saw him on the couch, engrossed in his phone. "There you are."
"What?"
"I thought you're asleep. Aren't you tired?"
"A little. I was waiting for you."
I flopped next to him, peeking on his phone. He's in the middle of a match in the RPG game he's been playing for awhile. "You were?"
"Yeah." He said, with his eyes still glued to the game.
"You sure you're not up just cause of Archagrime?"
"A little bit of both." He chuckled. "I haven't been able to play this since we left. I'm getting rusty. Look."
He showed his screen for me to look at his kills and deaths count when suddenly an enemy creeped from behind and stabbed him with its thorn-like arm.
"Ugh, I hate this team!" Punching the pillow beside him as he screamed.
I chuckled, placing my chin on his shoulder. "I thought you're good at gaming."
"I swear I am but three of my teammates went AFK so we died so much in this match and lost most of the good gears. Even this one I'm wearing will soon be broken too."
"What's AFK? And why is it broken?"
"Oh my god, I forgot you're an old man." He laughed as he leaned onto me. "Away From Keyboard, meaning they left the game or might also be an internet issue that made them go in and out of the game. Due to their absence, these AFKs are controlled by bots and these bots are idiots. They did nothing but add our team's deaths and that will affect our final score. It'll be low and the rewards won't be as useful."
"I see, but, Puff, you explained this a lot smoother than when I asked you to present the stock market. I think you should've gotten into programming, game design or courses that used more of your technology knowledge instead of business."
