"Hello lovebirds and welcome to my cooking class! Today we'll be learning a few basics of cooking and baking." Said the chef at the cooking class for couples we had signed up for.
I was really excited to take up these classes as I had always liked cooking and baking, and cherry on top, it was a couples' class so I rolled him in too.
Of course we had tried cooking sometimes at home, and since it was a lot of fun we decided to sign up for these classes too.
But more than me, he was an expert at cooking. At home, it would usually be him cooking and me drooling over the way he used to move around in the kitchen and make everything so perfectly.
We were asked to chop the vegetables first. As he saw me struggling with the tomatoes, he came up behind me and helped me cut it. 'I was feeling butterflies in my stomach' would be an understatement. I was feeling the whole zoo!
Next, we were learning how to make different kinds of sauces. He was stirring up the sauce and he held up the spoon and asked me to taste it. But since it was hot, he blew some air and then held it up to my my mouth. How sweet! And moment I tasted it, the flavours burst in my mouth, creating a sense of euphoria.
At the end, we were assigned a dessert to make and we decided to make some muffins.
All this while I didn't realise when our playful banters turned into flirty glances and some not-so-obvious touches that made me feel the entire zoo in my stomach.
When the muffins were ready to be eaten, he picked one and gave it to me while he picked one up for himself.
He winked at me and said, "Bon appetite!"
And when I tasted that muffin, I realised how fun it was to cook together and by the look in his eyes, I knew that he was thinking the same.
"We should do this more often." I said.
"It'd be my honour, sweetheart." He replied.
Again the damn zoo!
