"Spencer, I think you're ready to go out on your own" Chris said with a wide a smile, as he handed Reid the papers saying he was a free person.

Reid looked at him with wide eyes, feeling his eyes glisten, he could remember much from the past few weeks only the constant preparing for this moment.

He looked down as his legs and felt his heart pump, he had a pair of jeans on and his favourite black converses, he looked like your average guy.

"Thank you" he said shaking Chris's hand, something he never did always finding a way to avoid it "hey man, your a lucky man" Chris yelled as Reid hobbled out the door, he was still trying to get his balance on his own but he had the walking part mastered.

He was beaming with excitement as he hobbled past the wheelchair that had been his mode of transport for so long, and he felt the urge to shout something but he kept it to himself, deciding he was happy enough.

Spencer Reid sat inside his fiancé's apartment siting on the leather couch as he waited for JJ to walk through the door, he had let himself in using the key she 'hid' under her doormat because he so desperately wanted to surprise her, give her a by of happiness.

The house was dark and Reid heard the door unlock his body tingling with excitement, he heard little thuds racing across the floor which he guessed was from Henry and he heard the light switch being flicked and soon light flooded the room.

"Spence" JJ said almost immediately as she noticed him sitting there she instantly smiled, "hey" she said softly looking around for a wheel chair, and then when she saw looked back she noticed he was gone.

Turning her head she saw him standing there his eyes wide and he had this adorable smile on his face.

JJ dropped Henry's backpack her eyes widening in surprise tears dripping from her eyes.

"You can walk, you can actually walk" she did as tears of joy slid down her cheek.
