The break between February 6 and February 14, 2024, gave Shubman a rare opportunity to catch his breath after the intense two-test series.

With the team having a few days off, Shubman decided it was the perfect time to introduce Supraja to his family.

He had been thinking about it for a while now—his relationship with Supraja was getting more serious, and he wanted to take the next step.

Supraja had been his rock during the tough times on and off the field, and he knew it was time for her to meet the people who meant the most to him.

Despite the fact that their relationship was still somewhat under wraps, he couldn't keep her away from his family any longer.

She deserved to be part of that world too.

"Babe, I want you to meet my family," Shubman said one evening as they were lounging on the couch in his hotel suite, both of them catching up after a long day.

Supraja looked at him with wide eyes, her stomach flipping nervously. "Your family? Like... your parents and your sister?"

"Yeah," Shubman grinned, his eyes soft with affection.

"I think it's time. I've been telling them about you, and honestly, I don't want to keep this a secret anymore."

Supraja's heart skipped a beat. She had known for some time that meeting his family was inevitable, but hearing him say it aloud made her stomach turn with both excitement and nerves.

"I—I don't know if I'm ready for that, Shubman. I mean, your parents are probably going to be... I don't know... expecting a lot."

Shubman reached over and took her hand, gently squeezing it. "Listen, Supraja," he said softly, his voice full of warmth.

"My family is going to love you. They're just like me, full of love and loud as hell. You'll fit right in."

She chuckled nervously, but she could feel the sincerity in his words. "Alright, I'll do it. But if they're anything like you, I might need a drink afterward," she teased, earning a playful smirk from him.

"Don't worry," he winked. "We'll have drinks together after."

The next weekend, Shubman flew her to his family's home in Chandigarh, the city that had shaped so much of his life.

It was a modest yet beautiful house, filled with memories of his childhood and the love of his parents.

As they arrived, Shubman could feel his nerves creeping up, despite his cool exterior. This was a big moment for both of them.
