"Are they gone yet? Tank cautiously whispered.

Scarlett watched as eight Jayden walked out the Beacon shopping mall all equipped with guns the length of their arms.

"They're gone, we should stay put for a little longer just in—" Scarlett stopped as the seven foot behemoth stepped over her out into the open. Since they had returned from the moon they had been playing it safe and hiding from any Jayden they had seen until the others get back, but that hadn't been necessary until yesterday when they started gunning down civilians. Scarlett could tell Tank was getting sick of hiding and wanted to fight back.

"Tank you're gonna give away our position!" She scolded a little louder.

He stopped by a shopping trolly, turned to face her and without looking, shoved the cart into the wall with enough force to bend the front.

"Think they would've heard that?" He asked confidently.

"Yes!" She whispered loudly, ducking her head a little more behind the janitor's closet door.

"Scar come on, no one's here." He insisted.

Slowly she creaked open the door and stepped out. "Fine but any sight of anyone and we're out!"

Looking around the empty hall there wasn't a window in sight that wasn't smashed, besides the glass doors. The shops were still fully stocked as there wasn't time for people to loot. Bodies and blood littered the floor as she walked through, leaving footprints the same colour as her hair. They walked through a few shops, pulling bodies out the way and looting as they went. Tank found a crowbar which he decided was a good enough weapon for him. They found medical supplies, food and water as they hunted. Eventually they came to the security office, the door was locked but Tank and his new trusty crowbar made short work of the obstacle. Inside were two security guards which had been each shot in the heart, their handguns lay ownerless on the ground.

"Here." Scarlett offered Tank one of the guns.

"Nah guns aren't really my thing, I'll stick with this bad boy." He rejected white pretending to fight with his crowbar.

"Fine, more for me." She muttered to herself, strapping a holster either side of her waist and sliding a handgun into each. The guns were a great find considering there weren't many around these days, the Americans brought their common culture of publicly owning guns into a restricted continent, therefore slowly they got less and less common but still could be found on most police and security.

"Hey?" An unknown voice appeared from behind them. The two quickly turned, Scarlett drawing both guns and Tank in battle stance.

"Hands up!" Scar demanded now startled.

The Blonde haired woman threw her hands up and stumbled backwards. "I- I'm sorry I didn't mean-"

"Were you followed?" Tank queried, clearly seeing the woman as friendly.

"No, we've been held up in the flower shop the other side of the mall, we heard you break the door."

"How many are you?" Scar asked now lowering her weapons.

"Ten, wait no eleven with the kid. We came here after not knowing where else to go, I remember we used to talk about where we'd go in a zombie apocalypse and figured the mall would be the best bet." She explained.

"Alright go get them, we'll set up this side." She planned.

"Also that's dumb." Tank said.

"What do you mean?"

"In a zombie apocalypse the mall would be packed with zombies, better to clear it out later and go somewhere without a lot of people around."

"Right, thanks." She said hesitantly, she glared at him like a disapproving mother.
