All of them had heard the cracking in the sky, then it rained Missiles and unidentified Aircraft closed in. And Joahn knew those aircraft and paintjob all too well.
They bloody came back. She thought. A message came through on all channels:
,,This is Captain Torgaddon, all groundposts hold your ground, we will take over from here."
And it was bloody Captain Torgaddon, the hero of Arokath.
And there they were, Fire Raptors, Stormhawks and Storm Talons flying overhead. A squadron of Xiphon Interceptors shot by her and unleashed its Missile Barrages upon the knights filling the battleline between the Titans.
Joahn took a deep sigh of relief and one of aspiration. She discarded the stump where once had been the Bolt Canon. As its destroyed remnants fell to the ground. The Blade of Vigilance bowed down towards one of the Acherons Flame cannons and engaged it with the Armours Mag-Lock and connected it to the suits internal power systems. And luckily its fuel tanks were still quite full and also engaged the Mag-Locks for the fuel tanks which became hooked where once had been the Ammunition storage. The Machine Spirit gave off a moan of excitement and its normally calm and stoic nature changed and got a slim lusting for battle. And so Joahn fulfilled the Spirits wish as she stormed towards the other knights in spectacular fashion turning Automata, Skitarii, Tanks and Armiger Knights into molten slag.
Overhead the Astartes Xiphons and Fire Raptors took consecutive strafing runs on the Titans.
Finally, with an enormous crack the Valdors unleashed their overloaded Neutron beams and the Warmasters shields went down.
The Xiphons and Stormhawks jumped the gun and unleashed missile barrages on the Titan, all still not doing nearly enough damage. That was when a loud scream-like crackling filled the air as a bright white beam of light launched from an Astartes Tank on the ground, tearing through the Titans feet. But it still did not fall. That was where Joahn saw her chance. Her Knight sprinted towards the Titan and, as she reached it, cut through one of the last support struds of the Titans foot. Now no longer supported, it began to topple over. Joahn wasted no time and ran. She ran and ran, as fast as the Knight could. As the Warmaster had toppled over, the remaining forces began to retreat, and the Astartes followed suit in their Spartans, Rhinos and Stormhawks. Deredeo Dreadnoughts fired their Artillery after the fleeing Titans. But Joahn wasn't planning on following them. She had done her part, and she needed to be ready as the war was not yet won. But now, having survived this, she was sure that they could survive anything.
