Taehyung brought a slightly wet towel from the bathroom and Jungkook was still lying on the bed. All this time, Taehyung's half-bare body had been hovering over him. He hadn’t touched him, yet without any physical contact, Jungkook’s entire body kept shivering. His heart was still pounding loudly, the rhythm intensifying with fear. He couldn’t even get up. His small frame had weakened under the weight of terror.
All of a sudden, Taehyung silently grabbed his hands tightly, pulling them together. Jungkook felt a faint pain in his wrists but remained silent. Seeing Taehyung tie his hands with the towel, his voice trembled.
“What are you doing?”
“Quiet.”
Taehyung's voice boomed, filled with anger and fury. Jungkook’s inner self was in turmoil. Tears began to roll down from his eyes, smudging his eye liner. His long hairs became disheveled as the crown on his head shifted. Taehyung, after binding his hands, pulled him up and seated him. He said,
“You’re the reason my temper changes. You’re the reason I can’t control my mood. You’re the reason I stopped celebrating my birthday three years ago. And now you’ve come, dressed up on Y/N's advice, to wish me? Trying to make amends? Don’t you dare cry.”
Jungkook, who was still naive and had grown up in the countryside area of Busan, didn’t fully understand everything. But he could feel that Taehyung hadn’t changed at all—still as cruel as ever towards him. Trying to stop his crying only made it worse. His tears now silently soaked his cheeks and dripped down to his chest. Seeing him cry more, Taehyung growled again,
“If you keep crying, your punishment will double, Jungkook. Be quiet. I’m not a good person, you know that? I can’t stand you. Every time I see your face, I’m reminded of your worthless father, and that’s why I find you intolerable. And look at you, wearing an oversized gown on that petite body of yours.”
Jungkook sniffled, finding Taehyung’s behavior psychotic. He had dressed up so beautifully to come and wish him, and this is how he was treated! He decided he wouldn’t stay here any longer. With great difficulty, he stood up from the bed. Keeping his head lowered, his voice trembled as he spoke,
“I… I’ll leave now.”
“Go ahead.”
Taehyung’s voice was calm, steady, but his mind was burning with anger. How dare this boy dress up and come to wish him like this! With bound hands and his heavy gown, Jungkook walked slowly. He glanced back at Taehyung once. His lips quivered as tears welled up again. His immature heart had taken a big hit. He hadn’t even fully matured, and yet he had been enduring Taehyung’s harsh treatment for so long. Limping slightly, he made his way to the stairs, eventually reaching the main door, where he paused. He took a few more steps towards the gate. The guard, seeing him, immediately locked the gate and greeted him politely, saying,
“You can’t leave.”
Jungkook’s big doe teary eyes, now red from crying, glared at him in defiance.
“I’m leaving. Open the gate.”
“You’ve been asked not to leave.”
“Who said that?”
“I did.”
Hearing the familiar voice behind him, Jungkook turned to see Taehyung. Shirtless, Taehyung had come after him. Shameless man. Before Jungkook could take another step, Taehyung picked him up and started walking back. Jungkook didn’t protest. Whatever Taehyung wanted to do, he didn’t care anymore. Back in the room, Taehyung placed him on the bed and said,
“You can’t leave. I’ve changed my mind, I won’t punish you. Since I brought you here, it’s my responsibility to take care of you. As a politician’s duty is to serve the people, it’s my duty to look after you as well.”
