Shivaay did not know how to react. He can't show how much Mallika's betrayal hurt him. Priyanka deserves happiness and if her happiness lies with someone from the Goenka family, let it be.
He looked at Anika once and then replied "I am really happy for you Prinku. Aur tu chinta mat kar, Anika ke alawa mujhe ab aur koi nahi dikhta (you don't worry, I can't picture anyone else except Anika)"
Shivaay said
"Kaise jhooth bolgaya bagad Billa"
Priyanka hugged Shivaay immediately.
"Thank you bhaiya for understanding. You are the best" she squealed in excitement.
"Mai chalti, aap log baatein karo" Priyanka left the duo in their room.
As soon as she left, Shivaay locked the door. Anika felt scared but she trusted that a guy with a family like this will not harm her.
"Anika, there is one warning for you. When we go back to India, you are not selling my family information for media publicity or anything" his eyes were dark
"I am very loyal. Once we are done here, I will get my money and be gone. Aur uske baad I am not liable to answer your family"
Shivaay knew it would be difficult to explain his family considering how much they are loving Anika till now but he is glad he has her now. His heart is not sure if he is ready to face Mallika again.
"Aapka aur Mallika ka breakup kyu hua tha?(Why did you and Mallika breakup?)" Anika was so curious that she couldn't control her mouth.
Shivaay isn't very affectionate with anyone apart from his family.
"Know your limits. Just because my family is talking nicely or I am talking nicely with you, doesn't give a free pass to know about my personal life"
Anika rushed out of the room. She knows she is getting paid to be a girlfriend but Shivaay reminding her every second about it makes matter worse. They cannot even have civil conversation for 5 mins.
"Aage se baat bhi nahi karungi(I will not talk to him from now on)" she mentally decided and went to garden to look into the flowers.
Shivaay felt guilty of his behaviour but she was crossing a line. Now his main concern is not Anika but how will he face his love? How can he not break Shashank Goenka's arms when he sees Mallika with him?
"I will go insanse tonight"
Evening Time
Shivaay's eagerness to meet Priyanka's inlaws died when the news was broken out to him. He took his clothes and got ready in Om's room to give Anika her space.
"Anika kaha hai?( Where is Anika?)" Om asked because he couldn't comprehend why Shivaay was changing clothes in his room
"Mere room me. I wanted her to give privacy to change" Shivaay replied but then realised that this might attract questions
"Oh. Understandable. You were always the gentleman"
Luckily Om didn't pester him more.
"Sab aajao. Goenka's are here" Jhanvi welcomed
"Chal Shivaay and don't overthink. You have got the best" Om smiled and took his brother with him downstairs.
As they descended the stairs, Shivaay's eyes were looking for her but he couldn't find her. Where are you Mallika Goenka?
"Hey Mr Goenka" shivaay being the businesman didn't fail to impress them.
"We didn't know you are going to be here Shivaay. Glad to meet after so long"
"Shashank aur Mallika dusre car me aarahe hai" Mrs Goenka said.
"Fuck" Shivaay muttered under his breath.
"Namaste Bhaiya" Rehaan took Shivaay's blessing and the later couldn't help but smile.
"You don't have to. You are like a brother to me now." Shivaay hugged him next.
His and Mallika's relationship was no secret to any of the families and Goenka's were shocked when their eldest son introduced Mallika to them but times have changed. 2 years and a lot of change. Who knows that Shivaay hasn't forgotten a bit.
"Hi Shivaay" as Shivaay looked past Mr Goenka, his eyes met Shashank and then with Mallika. He saw those brown eyes after 2 years, all the emotions of love, happiness and then the betrayal rushed back to him. He was still looking for proper answers.
Mallika tugged her arm in Shashank's and they walked together towards Tej and Jhanvi.
"Excuse me guys"
Shivaay ran upstairs and it was an awkward situation for everyone.
"Arey wo ghar me naye sadasya ko lane gaya hai" Pinky said to not make it awkward.
Shivaay rushed to his room to find Anika sitting on the bed. Anika saw his eyes and realised the matter but as Shivaay clearly mentioned, she can't cross a line.
She got up to leave when he held her hand.
"She is here and I don't think I will be at my best behaviour. Please save me"
He didn't even realise when these words left his mouth. He is asking a girl he met a few days ago to save him from a situation.
"Chaliye niche" she dragged him downstairs maintaining a smile.
"Lo bahu bhi aagayi humari( our daughter in law in here)" Pinky said as Anika sat in the living room with Shivaay beside her.
"Bahu? Shivaay got married?" Shashank asked. Even Mallika couldn't believe. One of the biggest tycoons getting married and no one even knew
"Arey kya Pinky. Bahu nahi Shashank, girlfriend hi hai" shakti covered.
"Oh. Naam kya hai beta?" Mr Ajay Goenka asked her
"Anika. Nice to meet you all" she replied back. Shivaay placed his hand on her hand
"Bahu hi hai almost papa, mumma ko mat tokiye ispe(she is almost the daughter in law father, don't interrupt mom's words)"
Anika knew Shivaay is behaving this way to make Mallika jealous but his hand on her made her feel something fluttering in the stomach. What can it be? Butterflies? But that's just fiction.
"Ab bete ne keh diya hai to next tayyari inhi ki hai lagta hai Pinky(now that son has already told, it's their turn next)" Mrs Sunanina Goenka said and Pinky smiled brightly. She is happy for her son.
Soon Priyanka came down and with the Pandit, the marriage date for fixed which was in the next 3 weeks. They were kind of ready for it beforehand but had to do everything officially.
"Tomorrow we will make the announcement to the press" Tej said
The couple took blessing from Dadi and everyone exchanged sweets. Shivaay and Mallika kept stealing glances of each other.
"Aap aise hi use ghudte rahenge to lagega ki ab bhi uske piche lattoo puppy hai" Anika whispered in shivaay's ears but he was almost deaf when he saw them approaching towards him
"Hi Shivaay, long time no see" Mallika extended her hand
