As her high fever slowly dissipated in the depths of sleep, Ran Ling woke up to find herself in a strangely cold and quiet room. She turned over in bed, searching for her phone, and despite the discomfort in her eyes, she unlocked the screen in the dark. However, the interface was empty. Someone had slipped away while she was asleep, leaving no message behind.

Was the warmth of the embrace Yu Ting's, or was it just a dream tangled in her feverish sleep? Ran Ling found it hard to distinguish, feeling a bit fragile. She opened the chat with Yu Ting and sent a message: [I just had a dream.]

Yu Ting might have been busy and didn't reply immediately. Ran Ling lowered her gaze to the screen, stubbornly waiting for a response.

About five minutes later, Yu Ting replied: [What did you dream about?]

Ran Ling responded: [I dreamed you came to see me at home.]

Yu Ting asked: [Was that all? Anything else?]

"......" There seemed to be a hidden meaning in her words, causing Ran Ling to recall every detail of their embrace: how Yu Ting pulled her into her arms, how she comforted her... Her cheeks, still flushed from the fever, turned warm again. After a while, she replied: [I forgot.]

Yu Ting: [Oh, that's too bad.] Her tone was mischievous, hinting at something more.

Even through the screen, Ran Ling could imagine Yu Ting's smiling voice. Lost in thought, she heard Yu Ting send a voice message: "Is your fever down? Do you still feel uncomfortable?"

Ran Ling listened to it once and then put on her headphones to replay it several times before replying: [The fever is down, and I feel fine now.]

Yu Ting: [That's good.]
Yu Ting: [Have you gotten up to eat?]
Ran Ling: [Not yet.]
Ran Ling: [I don't want to get out of bed.]

Not wanting to get out of bed?

Those four words took on a different charm when spoken by Ran Ling. She seemed very lazy, the kind of lazy that exudes a unique fragrance, a feminine charm that felt warm and slow, like satin.

Perhaps during their conversation, she had rolled over in bed, her delicate figure soft and pristine, the blanket of white around her making it hard to tell if she was a white fox in the snow or a woman.

A fox or a woman?

She was clearly not sly at all; she was so gentle... a white cat?

Holding her phone, Yu Ting suddenly longed to see her in person, reliving the sensations of her high fever.

Late April in Yun City was always a comfortable time—neither too hot nor too cold, with a gentle breeze and fluffy clouds.

Having reunited less than a month after their last meeting, Yu Ting and Ran Ling found themselves at the entrance of the civil affairs bureau for the fifth time since becoming adults.

Yu Ting arrived first, sitting in the car with the window down, playing with her phone while waiting. A white sedan pulled up in front of her, and at the same time, a message popped up on her screen:

[Sister Ling: I've arrived.]

Yu Ting promptly got out of the car and walked over to the white car. With a light smile, she looked down at Ran Ling through the window.
