Expect the Unexpected

Chapter 5

Ashley and Chloe were almost to the contest hall when they heard a voice.

"Ash is that you?" the voice said, causing Ashley and Chloe to look and turn to see where it had come from and saw two people that Ashley had met before, Dawn and Zoey.

"Dawn! Zoey! How... how did you recognize me? I don't look the same at all." Ashley said in shock.

"I knew you had crossdressed before," Dawn said, before pointing at Ashley's shoulder where Pikachu was. "Combine that with recognizing Pikachu as Ash's and knowing he would never abandon Ash, made it a good guess. And then you just confirmed it."

"Aww man," Ashley said. "Still, call me Soleil right now."

"How did this happen anyway?" Zoey asked.

"Up to you," Chloe said when Ashley looked at her for help. "It is your secret after all."

"It's difficult," Ashley sighed. "You found out by accident, they would be the first I told myself. Still, I trust them."

They then headed to a private area nearby and told them everything.

"So you're actually a female Zorua named Ashley, and Chloe is going to use you in the contest so the two of you can study strange energy readings from the contest hall." Dawn said, getting a nod. "Well, that explains why I would sometimes wake up early on our journey to use the bathroom, and see a fox-shaped shadow in your tent. Still, I can get you in the contest hall now. After all, my mom helped set it up. Afterwards we can help you prepare for the contest."

"Thanks," Chloe and Ashley said.

"Your welcome," Dawn said. "Though you should be in your Zorua form for the registration."

"Oh yeah," Ashley said, turning back to Zorua.

A little while later they had registered and Dawn had gotten them in the waiting room, which was big enough to release all their Pokémon, which they did to help find the strange energy signatures. Chloe releasing Eevee, to join Ashley, Ashley releasing Espeon, Umbreon, Swanna, Riolu, and Scorbunny to join Pikachu, Zoey releasing Glameow, Mismagius, Gastrodon, Lumineon, Gallade, and Leafeon, while Dawn releasing Piplup, Buneary (who tried to hug Pikachu), Pachirisu, Mamoswine, Quilava, and Togekiss.

While looking around the psychic types found where the strange energy signatures were appearing and ended up poking it with their psychic powers. They really shouldn't. It caused a bright flash, and a wave of vertigo swept over the room, knocking everyone out.

When everyone came to their senses a few hours or so later, there was a lot of confusion as everyone realized they were in different bodies.

Eventually Scorbunny, the only one not body swapped, released an attack to get their attention, and calmed them down, and having them go by their original bodies, finding out that each of them had swapped bodies with the one in the original body. Ashley and Glameow were doing good, both being quadruped. Chloe and Leafeon were having a bit of trouble with standing, with Leafeon deciding to just sit on the floor, while Ashley helped Chloe stand up by using Glameow's body as a brace, then showing her how to move quadruped style, Chloe's intellligence letting her pick it up easier then expected. Mamoswine and Lumineon had a bit of trouble due to their vast body differences and being different genders. Piplup and Espeon had the same gender problem, but less strong body troubles, only. Togekiss and Zoey were having trouble with Zoey constantly crashing Togekiss's body while trying to fly, since that is how Togekiss's move while Togekiss was lucky it had experience walking before becoming a togekiss, though had some trouble dealing with balance. Pikachu and Dawn were both better and worse. They were different genders, and Dawn was a human, but their adventures with Ashley had made them very adaptable, and they, could both move on two legs naturally. Swanna and Riolu had similar problems to Togekiss, and Zoey, and just parked their butts down. Umbreon and Gastrodon, other then gastrodon being male and Umbreon female umbreon was adjusting surprisingly easy due to gastrodon being basically a slug, and just needed to stay there, but could not move. Mismagius and Pachirisu kept trying to move the wrong way for ghosts, and non ghosts, so parked down while holding ech other steady, Quilava and Buneary were doing good for the same reason as Dawn and Pikachu, while Gallade was having more trouble with Eevee's body then she was with his due to the simple fact that Eevee loved to copy, and used that to adapt. The worse part though, was that Glameow, Leafeon, Togekiss, and Pikachu were in human bodies, and thus could not speak pokemon, though they could still get the gist the same way humans do with Pokémon they are close too.

"Alright," Scorbunny said, in pokespeech. "Now that we have that settled, any idea how to get back to normal?"

"We can't poke the energy again," Ashley spoke up, "the ones in the bodies of the psychic types don't know how to use their psychic powers."

"I have an idea," Dawn said from Pikachu's lap. "Ash, you know I am friends with Mesprit, and she lives nearby. She could put us back to normal."

"You know Mesprit?" Chloe said surprised.

"One of our adventures," Ashley said,

"Never mind," Chloe replied knowing how those could get, before looking around, then sighing at what she was gonna say. "Alright, it looks like me, Ashley, Glameow, Dawn, Pikachu, Quilava, Buneary, and Eevee are the ones that can move around, so we should get Mesprit and return here to fix the others."
