23rd October 2024 : Lumenaria : Inside the castle

Sophie stood in her cell, pacing. If they didn't get out of there, they would never save the entire elvin world. With Lady Gisela at the helm, they would never get out of there alive. She paced and paced some more when Fitz, her cell-mate, grabbed her hand. Her heart should've been fluttering by his warm touch. But, the butterflies had evaporated and her heart beat remained normal. Weird.

"Stop it, you'll only make it worse." Meanwhile, Keefe, in the other cell, was bunking with Biana. Biana grabbed his hand and told him to wake up. He had been drugged to prevent him for screaming for help. He was 'real nasty' apparently.

He shoved off his rough blanket and settled down beside her. "So," It was obvious Biana had a crush on Keefe. He had kissed her once. On the cheek. On the cheek. But, hey! Who could resist this?

Keefe knew his mom's thinking. There must be some way they could get out. There must be some flaw in her planning. He must get Sophie out. His Juliet. The Sun to his Moon. His one and only. "Sophie!" He didn't realize he'd said it until there was a distant voice reply "Keefe? Is that you?"

"Yeah. Are you ok?" He shouted back. "Why are we even doing this?" Keefe imagined a message he wanted to send Sophie, and a slingshot. He placed the message carefully and SWISH!!!

There went the message into oblivion. Into the darkness of the dungeon. Never to be seen again. I miss you, too.

"Woah! You heard me!" Keefe shouted.

"Yeah, how did you do that?"

I'll tell you later. This was fun. His own way to contact Sophie. She didn't have to read his mind and read all the mushy stuff buried deep within. Anyway, I found a way out of here. On your cell, there is a eye scanner. If we take a picture of any one part of the Neverseen, show it to the senser, we'll get out of here. Sophie transmitted to him.

Done.

He waited for half an hour for a guard to come by and asked for some colors and paper. Why sit there without anything to do when he could draw. WINK, WINK. He drew his mother's eye with his photographic memory and sent it to Sophie.

I can deal with that. Keefe put the image on the scanner and broke out along with Biana. They creeped to Dex and Marella, then to Maruca and Stina, and to Sophie and Fitz. You know the rest. They walked walked walked till their legs hurt and complained complained complained thill their tongues were sour. Then they were asleep. Just like that.
