A WEEK LATER ━

Sumiko was sitting down with her mother, Rukia, Orihime, and Toshiro who had insisted on tagging along. He was still getting used to seeing her as more than the soul reaper who invaded the soul society.

"So are you excited?" Rukia asked.

"Excited and nervous." Sumiko gushed as she placed her hands on her cheeks.

"I don't see the big deal." Toshiro huffed.

"That's because you're not old enough to plan your wedding. I want this day to be perfect."

"The soul society has some nice places." Toshiro mumbled.

"Really? But would they even allow it?"

"Probably." Rukia replied.

"But what about the others?" Orihime asked.

"Ah. That's true." Sumiko sighed.

"How about something small?" Hana asked.

"We agreed on something small with friends and family after all."

"How about the first place you met?" Rukia suggested.

"We met at the dojo." Sumiko reminded.

"Oh, maybe the forest. Kind of like a fairytale." Orihime beamed.

"I can't believe the day is just around the corner. If you do choose the woods I can find a good place for you to use." Toshiro mumbled.

"Thank you, Toshiro." Sumiko beamed softly as she immediately hugged him.

"Hey! Get off me!"

"No way!"

"You're ruining my hair!"

"I'll fix it for you later!"

"Go back to planning!"

Sumiko planned the rest of her big day while she messed with Toshiro's hair and rewarded him with baked treats that he secretly happily enjoyed.

A MONTH LATER ━

The big day was finally here.

Sumiko was already ready before glancing at her reflection in the mirror. Her bair tied in a neat bun that held her veil in place. A small shaky breath leaving her lips.

"You alright?"

"Of course she's not."

"Dad. Toshiro."

"Sup kid." Kisuke smiled as he walked in. His hat was still on his head but he was now in a suit. The same being with Toshiro, except for the hat part.

"Sorry for intruding." Toshiro spoke. His cheeks pink as he immediately glanced to the side. "You look great."

Sumiko smiled softly. "Thank you. I appreciate it." She was wearing her wedding dress as she was ready to go out. The wedding dress was a white gown with pale blue on the bust and her sides and waist. It was a strapless sweetheart neckline. The sleeves were not attached to the dress as they were on her elbow to her hand.

"What's on your mind?" Toshiro asked.

"I wished Sora was here too. He raised me too and if he hadn't agreed to send me there then we would've never met at all."

"You have us here." Kisuke spoke.

"I know and I'm happy to have you both." She smiled as she pecked his cheek and Toshiro's forehead next. Moving back slightly. "I can still walk down that path and hold him close to my heart."
