The little fox ran away.

...

Originally, Yan Jue was lying on the ground, sleeping comfortably.

Suddenly, she felt someone watching her, sending a chill down her spine.

Yan Jue opened her eyes and looked up to see Qi Xianqing sitting at the desk, reading a book.

The girl flipped through the pages with an expressionless face. Although she said nothing, Yan Jue could still sense the low pressure radiating from her.

Yan Jue stared at Qi Xianqing for a while and suddenly felt a surge of spiritual energy flowing from within her, like a rushing spring, almost spilling over.

Her gaze shifted to the piece of wood that Qi Xianqing had on the desk.

That was the wood she had just been gnawing on with the little boar.

Qi Xianqing glanced down at her and cleared her throat. "Did you enjoy the wood?"

The little fox sat up and tilted her head, not quite understanding.

Qi Xianqing said, "Didn't I tell you not to mess with my things without permission?"

The little fox's eyes widened in confusion.

Qi Xianqing then picked up the remaining half of the wood from the table and placed it on top of the little fox's head.

Yan Jue's body stiffened, and she dared not move a muscle, sitting there frozen.

Qi Xianqing lightly tapped the little fox's wet nose, leaning back in her chair with a smirk. "Just keep it there, don't move."

"If I don't say to move, then you can't move."

In the quiet room, the little fox sat straight-backed, not daring to shift an inch.

The piece of wood on her head remained as still as a mountain.

After what felt like half a tea time passed,

Qi Xianqing stood up and went outside to fetch water to wash her face.

Once Yan Jue saw her walk away, she quickly put the wood back on the table and bolted out of the room.

...

Back in her dormitory, Yan Jue had only slept for three hours.

It wasn't yet dawn when she headed down the mountain again.

Things had been too busy lately, and with the story approaching a critical juncture, she had a lot to prepare.

Spending time with Qi Xianqing at night was probably the only joyful moment amidst the rush.

Dressed in her Daoist robe, she swiftly descended the mountain.

Her destination was clear—she headed straight for the Zui Chun Lou in Qingye Town.

Zui Chun Lou was located in the red-light district and was the largest brothel in Qingye Town.

Yan Jue felt a certain emotional attachment to Zui Chun Lou, as it was the first place she had come to after crossing into this world for her training.

Back then, she had been just a useless beginner at the Foundation Establishment stage, but now she had become a small disciple at the Integration stage, on par with Meng Hangjun.

Hahaha.

Compared to a year ago, Zui Chun Lou was indeed much more bustling and lively.

As it was nearing dinner time, the main hall was filled with people, lively and noisy.
