As the machine transported us to the real world I felt myself get drowsy, the last thing I hear before dozing off is: "shhh...it's okay gumball..." when I awoke I found myself laying on a bench in a park with Rob wrapped around me making sure I was breathing. "hey...wake up.." he said. I rubbed my eyes and took in my surroundings, I was in a town with humans all over, some of which looked like my old neighbors. I looked down at my hands, seeing brown skin instead of paws. I look up at Rob who's smiling at me, he had light brown skin, long brown curly hair tied in a ponytail, patches of vitiligo, and warm olive eyes. I blush, what's wrong with me? i've never felt like this for anybody, even penny- oh God penny-! where is she? my eyes widen as I look at him.
"what's wrong gumball?" he asks. "wheres my family? A-and penny?" I replied. "don't worry, they're at your house, but I have bad news, because your family and penny were side characters they may have some memory loss, i'm sorry gumball, penny won't remember you exist."
I teared up, it can't be right. I buried my head in rob's hair and started to cry, he rubbed my back. "it's all gonna be okay gumball..." he said and started ruffling my hair, it felt so wrong but so right, I knew penny didn't remember me, lets face it, I barely remember her name. but it still felt like weird.
I wrapped my arms around him sobbing harder into his chest. "cmon gumball, we should get to your house, people are staring. I sniffled and nodded as we began walking, my gaze drifted over to his hand as my hand slowly found my way into it. he glanced over at me and smiled, "we're almost there." I take a deep breath and try to stop my blushing as we approach the door to my parent's house.
