As Sari sat beside Miyuki’s hospital bed, gently stroking her daughter’s hand, she heard the door open. Turning around, she saw Tacia, Mira, and Scarlet stepping in, each carrying a warmth and concern that lifted the room’s heavy atmosphere.

“Sari,” Tacia greeted softly, immediately noticing the exhaustion etched into her friend’s face. Dark circles lined Sari’s eyes, and her shoulders were slumped with the weight of sleepless nights and endless worry. She looked as if she hadn’t rested in days.

Mira and Scarlet exchanged a worried glance. “Sari, mukhang na ngangayayat kana ah? ” Mira asked gently, moving closer to her friend.

Sari brushed off their concern with a tired smile. “okay lang ako, normal lang to. I need to be here for Miyuki,” she said, her voice wavering slightly but resolute.

Tacia stepped forward, her tone firm yet compassionate. “Sari, you’re running on empty. You need to take care of yourself, too. How will you stay strong for Miyuki if you don’t rest?”

Sari shook her head. “Hindi ko kasi kayang iwan at tulugan si Yuki…. Pa'no kung kailanganin niya ako?”

Scarlet placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “Sari andito na kami. Hayaan mo na kami muna ang mag bantay sa kaniya. Go home, get some rest, and we’ll call you if anything changes.”

Sari hesitated, her gaze shifting back to Miyuki, who was resting peacefully. The thought of leaving her daughter, even for a short time, filled her with guilt. But looking into her friends’ earnest faces, she felt a wave of reassurance.

“Sure kayo?” Sari asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mira nodded, her voice soothing. “Oo nga, umuwi ka muna. Kailangan mong maging malakas para sa anak mo.”

Reluctantly, Sari nodded, her exhaustion finally overcoming her resistance. “Thank you… all of you, kayo muna bahala sa kanya ha” she whispered, her eyes welling with gratitude.

As she gathered her things and kissed Miyuki gently on the forehead, Tacia gave her an encouraging smile. “Go rest, Sari. We’re here for both of you.”

Sari took one last look at her friends surrounding Miyuki, and for the first time in days, she felt a flicker of relief. With a small smile, she left the room.

Sari pulled into the driveway, her eyes heavy from exhaustion and her mind clouded with worry. The last thing she expected to see was Gio, standing at the gate, looking uncertain yet determined.

Sari’s heart dropped, a rush of anger mixing with the deep-seated hurt she had tried to bury.

As Sari stepped out of her car, her mother hurried over, sensing the tension rising. “Sari…” her mother began, trying to defuse the situation. “Andito si Gio, asking to see you. We didn’t know what to say.”

Sari held up a hand, silencing her mother gently as her gaze remained fixed on Gio. Her tired eyes narrowed, and her voice came out sharper than she intended. “Gio… anong ginagawa mo dito?”

Gio swallowed, her face softening as she took a small step forward. “Sari, I just wanted to talk. Please, just hear me out.”

Sari shook her head, frustration and hurt spilling over. “Talk? Now you want to talk? After all this time, after everything?”

Her voice broke slightly, and she took a deep breath, willing herself to stay composed. “Gio, plss. Wala akong panahon para makinig sa paliwanag mo.”

Gio’s face fell, realizing the weight Sari was carrying. She took another tentative step forward.

“Sari, mag usap naman tayo, kahit isang beses lang … Sari kahit hindi mo na ako mapatawad. Pakinggan mo lang ako.”

Sari’s jaw clenched, the words lingering in the air as her emotions battled within her. Part of her wanted to let Gio in, to lean on her like she once had.

But another part of her, the part still raw with hurt, struggled to accept Gio’s sudden return.

After a long silence, Sari shook her head slowly, her voice barely above a whisper. “Gio pagod na pagod na ako. Kung alam mo lang ang bigat na dinadala ko ngayon, umalis Kana Gio. Mas lalo akong nasasaktan pag nakikita kita.”

Without waiting for a response, Sari turned and walked into the house, her heart heavy as she left Gio standing alone at the gate.

“Gio. Bigyan mo muna ng panahon makapag isip at makapag pahinga ang anak ko, maiintindihan ka din niya, at babalik din ulit ang dating pag mamahal niya sayo, mag tiwala kalang”

Her mother gave Gio a sympathetic look before following Sari inside, leaving Gio staring after her, wondering if she’d lost her last chance to make things right.
