Lisa's Point of View
3:40 pm
I can't breathe, and my vision is getting blurry. It feels like I'm sinking, as if someone is pulling me down.
-Am I going to die? Just as I was about to close my eyes, I felt someone pulling me up and dragging me to the side.
I sensed her staring at me. After a moment, I felt her stand up.
"My phone, damn it," I heard her say just before I lost consciousness.
:
:"Lisa," I heard someone calling while gently tapping my cheek. Slowly, I opened my eyes and saw my friends Jisoo, Tae, and Kai surrounding me.
"What are you doing there? Is it nice to sleep in that spot?" Jisoo teased.
We were at the beach, and we had decided to take a quick swim, but I never expected to nearly drown.
"I almost drown," I said as I looked around and saw people swimming and playing in the water.
"Did you see who saved me earlier?" I asked, but they just exchanged confused glances.
"What are you talking about?" Kai replied, then turned to look at the girls nearby.
"Hey, girls," he called out as my friends approached them.
I shifted in my seat, trying to recall what had happened earlier-I remembered it was a girl who had help me.
"But why didn't she wait for me to wake up?" I wondered aloud, scanning the area again.
"It's getting late; Grandpa needs me," I whispered to myself.
I walked over to the tree where we had left our things earlier and grabbed my slippers.
I'll just walk home. Our house isn't far; I live in a simple province with my grandpa. I've been living with him since I was a child after my parents abandoned me following an accident.
:
:"Why are you late?" Grandpa asked as he stood outside watering his plants. He loves gardening, and even when it drizzles, he continues to tend to them.
"I'm sorry, Grandpa. We were having so much fun that I didn't realize it was already late," I replied as I stepped inside the house.
I was greeted by the sight of coffins. My grandpa's job is to prepare bodies for burial, which is why there are so many coffins visible in our home.
"You have school tomorrow," Grandpa reminded me as he prepared to go inside.
"Can I just help you here instead?"
"Do you want to end up in one of these coffins?" he said, his tone serious.
I just laughed. I was accustomed to his serious demeanor. After all, I grew up with him.
